For the second time since the team's inception, the Arizona Diamondbacks (64-98) will select first overall in the 2015 MLB Draft. The only other time they owned the No. 1 overall pick occurred in 2005 when they selected eventual All-Star outfielder Justin Upton, who now plays with the Atlanta Braves. The Diamondbacks took high school righthander Touki Toussaint with the 16th overall pick in 2014.
The Houston Astros will receive a compensatory pick, the second overall selection, after they were unable to sign Brady Aiken, the No. 1 overall pick from this past year's draft. The Astros will also have the fifth overall pick after finishing the 2014 season with a 70-92 record.
The Texas Rangers, who had the 10th best record after the 2013 season at 91-72, ended this year with the third worst record and the fourth overall pick for 2015.
The Seattle Mariners, who picked sixth overall this past year, enjoyed the biggest jump in the draft order thanks to their 87-75 season and will pick 21st overall next June.
With a 98-64 record, the Los Angeles Angels finished with the best record in baseball and have the final pick of the first round.
The 2015 MLB Draft will take place Monday-Wednesday, June 8-10.
Tie-breakers for teams that finished with the exact same record/winning percentage are awarded to the team that finished with the worse record the previous season. Changes to the draft order due to free agent signings will be reflected once teams start signing players in the offseason.

- Trevor Megill, 104th overall selection (third round) - the Cardinals will be awarded a pick after the third round in the 2015 draft
Compensation Round A
Below is the list of players that were offered qualifying offers. The players have until Mon., Nov. 10 to either accept or reject these offers. The players that accept will receive a one-year, $15.3 million deal. The players that don't will become free agents. The teams that don't re-sign these free agents will be given a compensatory selection as listed below. The teams that sign these players will lose their first round picks, unless they have a pick among the top 11 overall selections, in which they would lose their next pick.
