The 2015 college baseball season appears to be shaping up to be a long-term shootout in terms of which teams stack up at the front end of the top 25 rankings. As a reward for their machine-like consistency so far, there's a new No. 1 in this week's rankings, and that's the LSU Tigers. But, each of the present top five teams all showed No. 1-type potential, and it may go without saying that these squads will continue to battle it out for the top spot for the remainder of the spring.

Making major jumps in the top 25 this week are Oregon State and Arizona State. The Beavers, led by a perfect game by standout freshman Drew Rasmussen, put together another impressive week and are proving their young roster is ready to win right now. They leap from 16 to 11 this week. Arizona State scored a statement making series win over Oregon and are making an eight position jump this week.

Joining the fray is a red-hot Maryland team, a squad that has now won 10 straight games and appear to be gelling in all facets of the game. Illinois joins the rankings and checks in at 21st in the nation, as they've shown consistency in the pitching department behind staff ace, Kevin Duchene. Dallas Baptist simply continues to win and joins the Perfect Game Top 25 for the first time.

Also considered: California, Nebraska, Nevada.
