Overall it was a fun weekend to follow college baseball. As noted in the weekend preview last Thursday, there were 13 key series that had significant rankings and postseason implications. The biggest series had Louisville hosting Florida State, with the Cardinals coming out on top in the rubber match thanks to a dramatic come-from-behind win on Sunday afternoon. Down 5-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Nick Solak drilled a three-run bomb to left-center field to tie the game. Will Smith hit a solo shot in the bottom of the eighth to put Louisville ahead for good, 6-5.

Louisville has moved up to the second-ranked team in the nation as a result, while Florida State dropped two spots with the series loss.

LSU continues to hold onto the top spot after sweeping visiting Missouri, while Illinois won a wild game on Sunday, 28-13, to sweep Rutgers and claim their 24th game in a row. Texas A&M lost their weekend series against a struggling South Carolina squad and thus fell to the seventh spot in the PG Top 25 rankings. It marked the Aggies third series loss in the past month.

Inclement weather continues to be an issue this season, forcing numerous postponements, cancellations and changes of schedules. TCU, Dallas Baptist, Oklahoma State, Nevada and Arkansas all had their games cancelled on Sunday due to rain and poor field conditions. In addition, the third and deciding game of the Liberty/Coastal Carolina series was pushed back to Monday – although the winner will still be one game behind Radford, who swept Charleston Southern this past weekend, who are in sole possession of the lead in the Big South.

Rice, who opened the season as Perfect Game's 21st team in the preseason and fell out of the rankings on March 23, re-enter the rankings after a sweep of Florida Atlantic and a 4-0 week. North Carolina dropped out of the rankings after being swept on the road by Notre Dame.

Also considered: Cal State Fullerton, Notre Dame, Radford, UC Irvine.
