Hiroaki Shiraiwa is a 2016 OF with a 5-7 170 lb. frame from Neyagawa, Osaka, JPN who attends Osaka HS. Athletic frame with broad shoulders and nice present strength throughout well proportioned frame. Ran a 7.63 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, aggressive actions to the ball and uses momentum into release, circles well with sound footwork and fundamentals, short arm action in the back with a three-quarter release, comes out clean and easy, repeats well. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and hands pulled back at start of swing. Small bar at start, smooth swing with separation at contact. Sound swing with a longer, repeatable swing, generates consistent hard contact to the opposite field with a feel for the barrel, shifts weight and incorporates lower half well. Named to West Coast Top Prospect List.
