Jake Barrett is a 2017 SS/RHP, OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Merritt Island, FL who attends Merritt Island. Medium, compact, well-proportioned frame with athletic build. Versatile player with broad skill set. Ran a 7.28 60-yard dash. Primary infielder, good first step and instincts with quick transfer, solid and accurate arm across diamond. Also has solid footwork, overall actions and body control in the outfield. Flashes potential on the mound, small side step into windup. Clean arm-action and arm path, hides the ball behind body well. Solid arm speed, fastball up to 84 mph, consistently in the low-80s with arm side run. Also flashes curveball with big potential, offering has 11/5 shape and very good depth and tight rotation. Right handed hitter, wide base with quiet hands. Solid weight transfer, line-drive swing plane, good feel for the barrel. Has natural loft, can dip some, shows ability to use entire field.
