Trent Sellers is a 2018 RHP/SS with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Kennewick, WA who attends Kennewick HS. Smaller, athletic frame. On the mound shows a long, loose arm action with a cross body delivery. Shows numbers with turn at balance point. Throws downhill for a 3/4 slot and creates good arm extension at release. Fastball has good arm side run when down in the zone, tends to flattens when elevated in the zone. Fastball ranged from 79-81 mph. Shows a power curveball with hard spin and sweeping shape with depth, topped at 72 mph. Flashed a change up with fading actions and deceptive arm speed, potential swing and miss pitch. Very athletic actions when coming of the mound and fields the position well. Projects well on the mound. Right handed hitter with a crouched, open stance. Creates some coil in the top half and hands at load. Line drive swing plane with a tendecy to drift to front side early at times. Uses a mid-field approach and creates extension through contact. Shows the ability to use all fields when weight stays balanced. Defensively worked out from the infield showing two hand funneling actions while surrounding the baseball. Tends to wait back before working through. Has a loose arm action that produces on line carry and accuracy, topped at 80 mph across the infield. High ceiling as a pitching prospect at this time. Good student as well.
