Tyler Hartmann is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Reno, NV who attends McQueen. Medium frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Ran a 7.08 sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple rock step to medium leg lift delivery. Creates some coil over back leg at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball came out of hand clean generating some run to arm side in the mid 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Consistently located fastball down in the strike zone inducing weak ground ball contact. Curveball had 10/5 shape with loose spin and some depth. Maintained arm speed well with a chagneup that flashed some fade to arm side in the low 70's. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Clean pick up and created a longer arm circle prior to releasing from an extended three-quarters arms lot. Baseball came out of hand quickly producing on line carry to the bag at 80 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple front side trigger. Direct, inside hand path to contact with a line drive barrel plane to finish. Looked to work the baseball to the middle of the field on a line, but also flashed the developing barrel well to work the other way as well. Excellent student.
