Taj Vera Cruz is a 2019 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Kamuela, HI who attends Honokaa HS. Young and slender build, plenty of room to get stronger. 7.57 runner, has smooth and easy actions in the infield defensively, stays balanced well, throws from a low 3/4's arm slot with a quick release, soft hands out front, sound fundamentally and will make the routine play routinely. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a hanging front leg load, rotational upper body swing, will improve offensively as he continues to get stronger. Also pitched, big side step/leg raise delivery, rotational delivery and will spin off his front leg, extended 3/4's arm slot. Steady mid-70's fastball with some flat running action. Big soft curveball with rolling depth, showed good feel for his change up with sinking action. Mixes his pitches and throws strikes while pitching to contact.
