Caleb Martinek is a 2022 RHP/SS with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Enfield, CT who attends The Macduffie. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a high waist, longer limbs, has room to fill throughout. Right-handed pitcher, works exclusively out of the stretch with deliberate tempo to pace. Leg lift up past belt with gather of weight on backside over the rubber, lands on line and incorporates lower half coming down the mound well. Very long arm action through the backside but timed up well with plenty of whip and arm speed coming through, works to an extended three-quarters at release. Fastball jumps out of hand, topped out at 86 mph and lived down in the zone with consistent short sinking life, able to miss bats throughout. Maintained slot and arm speed well on slider up to 80 mph, tunnels the pitch well, throws with confidence and shows short tilting action to it. Comfort to double up on it. Able to induce weak ground ball contact when put in play. Excellent student. Named to the Fall Connecticut Top Prospect List.
