2015 Top Prospects

Joe Genord  IF - 2015 - Lake Worth, FL
South Florida

Genrod had the best bat at the event, simply crushing the ball both in batting practice and in games. He has big arm strength at first base and it would be interesting to see if he can handle third base or a corner outfield position defensively.

Nathan Pearson  RHP - 2015 - Odessa, FL
Uncommitted

Pearson has an XXL frame at 6-foot-6, 235 pounds and a smooth arm action that produced a fastball up to 89 mph to go with a low 70's curveball.

Chris Matthias  OF - 2015 - Merritt Island, FL
North Florida

Matthias was one of the fastest runners in Fort Myers with a 6.72 sixty and his speed plays up because he's a high energy player. He also has the strength to drive the ball hard up the gaps offensively.

Enmanuel Bejerano  C - 2015 - Palm Springs, FL
Seminole State College

Bejerano is a loose and flexible athlete at 6-foot-3, 175 pounds with a variety of tools. His arm strength stood out behind the plate (82 mph), in the outfield (91) and on the mound (85) and he has a nice right handed swing at the plate.

Steven Valentine  SS - 2015 - Tierra Verde, FL
Ave Maria University

Valentine's best tool was his right handed bat, as he consistently hit the ball hard in the games against all types of pitching. He projects as a future third baseman defensively.

Brandon Presley  LHP - 2015 - Key West, FL
Uncommitted

Presley has a very projectable 6-foot-6 frame and lots of athleticism. While he only tops out at 81 mph now, he has two very good secondary pitches and a huge ceiling when he adds strength and starts to use his lower body in his delivery.

Michael Diaz  1B - 2015 - Lake Wales, FL
Newberry

Diaz was all over the field, playing the corner infield positions very well defensively, hitting the ball hard consistently in the games and even topping out at 86 mph on the mound.

Clayton Morell  LHP - 2015 - Boynton Beach, FL
Pittsburgh

Morrell showed lots of left handed arm strength, with a fastball in the 85-88 mph range. He'll need to refine his off speed stuff but the potential is there.

Trent Herzog  C - 2015 - Pembroke Pines, FL
Uncommitted

Herzog is a big and strong catcher with a good mix of offensive and defensive tools. He missed the showcase's only home run by about 3 feet on Sunday when his drive to left field hit near the top of the fence.

Joshuan Sandoval Sánchez  C - 2015 - Manatí, PR
Florida Southwestern State College

Sanchez' skills are still on the raw side but he has a top prospect build at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds and lots of athletic tools behind the plate and in the outfield.
