2016 Top Prospects

Erikson Nichols  SS - 2016 - Oradell, NJ
Duke

A Duke University commit, Nichols shows athletic actions up the middle and big arm strength with an 88 mph throw across the diamond, tied for the event best velocity. With the bat the righthanded hitting Nichols again impressed hitting two long home runs in game action to his pull side.

Nick Silber  P - 2016 - New York, NY
Rice

Already giving his commitment to Rice University, the 6-foot-4, 195-pound Silber still projects well on the mound despite showing one of the best fastball of the event, working steadily in the 86-88 mph range with his heater and showed the ability to work both sides of the plate. His breaking ball in the upper-70s proved to be a true weapon, maintaining the quickness in his arm while generating late breaking life.

Chris Rinaldi  SS - 2016 - Westfield, NJ
Holy Cross

Rinaldi began his showcase by showing some of the better arm strength across the infield with an 86 mph throw and did so with a relatively easy arm action. With the bat the right-handed hitting Rinaldi showed quick hands with hard and consistent contact coming off the barrel.

Bryce Ramsay  C - 2016 - Barkhamsted, CT
Hartford

Ramsay took one of the louder rounds of batting practice, showing a strong and quick right-handed swing that produced hard contact and big life off the barrel to his pull side. Defensively he turned in one of the quicker pop times of the showcase at 1.87 and showed off his strong arm at 77 mph down to second base.

Mike Pascoe  RHP - 2016 - Poughkeepsie, NY
San Jacinto CC

With a lean, projectable frame full of quick twitch muscle, Pascoe is able to generate a steady 85-87 mph fastball that's produced from a clean, up-tempo delivery and fast right arm action. He shows solid running life to his arm side with his fastball and also flashed a curveball at 72 mph in his repertoire.

Eric Santiago  SS - 2016 - Easton, PA
University of Cincinnati

Santiago showed some of the best arm strength of the event from across the diamond, topping out at 86 mph with his best throw with solid carry. His hands are soft and showed well with the backhand. Santiago shows quick hands at the plate, able to turn on an inside pitch while showing nice balance in his swing.

John Ryan  RHP - 2016 - Mineola, NY
Uncommitted

Ryan has a well-built 6-foot-4 frame with present strength and projects for more in the future. Working from an over the top slot, Ryan is able to generate solid downhill plane on his fastball that topped at 86 mph with an easy and balanced delivery. His curveball showed 11-5 shape with tight rotation and nice depth at 74 mph.

Dylan Connors  LHP - 2016 - Jersey City, NJ
Army

A projectable left-hander full of athleticism and looseness, Connors shows a fast arm that produced a fastball up to 85 mph with big arm side run from a high three-quarter slot. His curveball is a weapon, showing sharp rotation and late depth and also features a nice, late fading changeup.

Connor Coyle  RHP - 2016 - Sparta, NJ
Towson/Gloucester County College

Coyle began his showcase by running a 6.95 60-yard dash and then proceeded to throw an impressive 87 mph from the outfield. His arm action is loose and easy with solid extension out front. Coyle also topped out at 83 mph with sharp tilt on his slider. A right-handed hitter, Coyle shows a short path to the ball with quick and solid carry when barreled up.

A.J. DiFillipo  3B - 2016 - Peabody, MA
Columbia

DiFillipo had a strong performance as a two-way player, showing well both on the mound and with his left-handed swing. With a short and quick swing path DiFillipo is able to generate hard contact to his pull side with lift at contact. On the mound he topped at 84 mph with his fastball and showed a sharp, late breaking curveball.

Tyler Hickey  RHP - 2016 - Bel Air, MD
Salisbury University

Hickey is a very long and lean 6-foot-7 build and uses his height to pound the ball downhill to the bottom of the zone, inducing consistent ground ball contact. With a fastball up to 82 mph Hickey projects very well and already shows very tight spin and 11-5 on his curveball, employing a short arm action through the back side.

CJ Lopez  SS - 2016 - East Stroudsburg, PA
Wingate/Harford CC

Lopez showed interesting two-way potential this weekend, shining in different parts of the game. With the bat he shows quick hands with a long and fluid path while defensively he stands out for his athletic actions and strong arm. He used that arm strength on the mound as well, topping 84 mph and creates nice angle on his pitches.

Austin Markmann  3B - 2016 - Red Bank, NJ
Sacred Heart

Markmann impressed with his two-way abilities, shining both with the bat and on the mound. A primary third baseman, Markmann shows a quick release with solid actions along with the athleticism and ability to throw from multiple arm slots. He swing a quick bat from the right side creating solid line drive contact with carry and jump coming off. He also topped at 83 mph with his fastball on the mound.

Banks Northington  3B - 2016 - Charlottesville, VA
Gettysburg

Northington swung a loud left-handed bat and uses his strong 6-foot-2 frame well to generate solid bat speed with lift at contact. Carrying his hands low, Northington does a nice job of shifting his weight through his lower half with nice carry coming off the barrel. Also threw 81 mph across the diamond from first base, tied for the top velocity across.

Jason Reynolds  RHP - 2016 - Sicklerville, NJ
Lehigh

Reynolds impressed during his time on the mound, running his fastball up to 87 mph while showing a clean and fluid delivery. With an athletic and projectable 6-foot-3 build, Reynolds also varied his breaking ball showing both a curveball and slider and knows how to mix each effectively.

Aaron Winkler  RHP - 2016 - Pound Ridge, NY
Richmond

Working exclusively from the stretch, Winkler topped out at 85 mph with his fastball with nice life down in the zone from a loose arm action. His slider is a very strong offering with late tilting life and very tight spin and rounds out his arsenal with a late fading changeup down in the zone.


2017 Top Prospects

Quentin Holmes  OF - 2017 - East Elmhurst, NY
Mississippi State

Holmes had a solid showing on all fronts after posting an event best 6.39 60-yard dash. A long and projectable 6-foot-3 frame that's full of fast-twitch muscle, Holmes shows interesting strength off his barrel with big jump on line drive contact to both gaps at present with more coming in the future.

David LaManna  C - 2017 - Saddle River, NJ
Notre Dame

LaManna's skills behind the plate really stand out, especially given his 2017 classification. With short and fast actions, LaManna moves well behind the plate with a very quick transfer and a strong right arm (1.80 pop, 77 mph top throw). He stays short with his swing and consistently gets the barrel to the ball, creating solid line drive contact to his pull side with quick hands.

Kyle Johnson  OF - 2017 - Rockville, MD
Holy Cross

Johnson projects well in all facets of the game and impressed this weekend both in the outfield and with his right handed swing. Showing a quick release with both strength and carry on throws, Johnson also creates solid extension in his swing with fluidity and natural lift at contact.

Michael Farinelli  SS - 2017 - New York, NY
Middlebury College

Listed as a primary pitcher Farinelli worked at 81-82 mph with his fastball, showing a nice three-pitch mix. He projects well as a two-way prospect as well showing actions up the middle with an easy arm action (84 mph top throw) and made an impression with the bat too. Taking one of the louder rounds, Farinelli showed quick hands which helped generate solid bat speed and hard line drive contact to all fields.

Michael Farr  RHP - 2017 - Metuchen, NJ
Uncommitted

With a tall 6-foot-3 frame Farr projects very well physically and already shows a fast right arm that produced a fastball that topped out at 83 mph. From a high three-quarter arm slot Farr generates nice plane on his fastball and shows sharp tilting life on his 75 mph slider. He uses his length well with the bat too, creating lift at contact with solid carry to all fields.

Liam Hibbits  1B - 2017 - New York, NY
VCU

Hibbits is a strong, projectable 6-foot-2 first baseman who shows athleticism with sound footwork and arm strength across the diamond. With a long and fluid left-handed swing, Hibbits creates nice extension in his swing with strength coming off the barrel to his pull side.

Tyler Mandel  3B - 2017 - Scarsdale, NY
Bridgeport

Mandel swings a loud bat from the right side and impressed with the amount of bat speed he is able to generate in his swing. With a short and fast bat path Mandel is able to generate hard line drive contact to all fields, projecting well with added use of his lower half. He gets on top of his throws across the diamond well and shows nice balance while charging in.

Ronald Meehan  RHP - 2017 - Brielle, NJ
Uncommitted

Meehan ran his fastball up to 86 mph during his time on the mound did so while showing an easy arm action. With a broad and projectable build, Meehan showed some downhill plane with arm side run on his fastball and did a nice job of working down in the zone.

Cade Negley  RHP - 2017 - Butler, PA
Santa Clara

Finishing up his sophomore season, Negley worked in the 80-85 mph range with his fastball during his innings on the mound with a quick, compact arm action while generating solid arm side run on his heater. His curveball was a true out pitch with depth and 12-6 shape while showing a nice feel for the offering.

Alex Pansini  RHP - 2017 - Westfield, NJ
Marist

With a long and lean build, Pansini projects very well as he continues to add strength and shows nice two-way potential. Pansini shows a fast and easy arm action topping 84 mph and shows the ability to work down to both sides of the plate. Will throw sharp curveball in any count. Clean, athletic actions at shortstop and shows fluidity in his swing with consistent barrel contact.


2018 Top Prospects

Henry Davis  C - 2018 - Bedford, NY
Louisville

Despite just finishing his freshman year Davis showed off loud tools, including the events top throw from the outfield at 90 mph with a quick arm. He showed similar strength from behind the plate and popped an impressive 1.89 with a quick release. On the mound he topped out at 82 mph and easy out of hand and with the bat shows quick hands with a short swing to the ball.

Brandon Neeck  LHP - 2018 - Chappaqua, NY
Virginia

Neeck was up to 81 mph on the mound with both a curveball and changeup and shows a loose and easy arm action from the outfield where he also topped out at 81 mph with his top throw. With interesting two-way potential, Neeck shows a short path to the ball with a consistent feel for the barrel with contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field.

Evan Matthews  OF - 2018 - Philadelphia, PA
Bard College

Matthews is a primary outfielder who shows quick feet and solid actions to the ball to complement his strong arm that produced a top throw of 82 mph with carry and accuracy. He does a nice job of repeating his right-handed swing while showing fluidity with a short path to the ball and lift at contact.
