Returns To San Diego In 2015


Perfect Game in conjunction with Blue Ridge Sports & Entertainment announce that the Nation’s Top-Rated High School Baseball Players Will Compete in San Diego

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (July 1, 2015) –
Jerry Ford, President of Perfect Game announced today that the 2015 Perfect Game All American Classic will take place on Sunday, August 16 at Petco Park in San Diego, Calif., home of MLB’s San Diego Padres. This is the 13th annual edition of the country’s premier high school baseball All-Star Game.

Far more than just a game, the event provides a once in a lifetime opportunity for the players selected. While in San Diego the participants will participate in a series of baseball related activities in addition to a visit to Rady Children's Hospital, a lunch with Honorary Chairman Trevor Hoffman on a beach alongside the Pacific Ocean as well as the event's annual awards dinner banquet held on Saturday night at the San Diego Hall of Champions.

The East vs. West matchup will feature the nation’s best high school players, battling at Petco Park for the seventh consecutive year, providing them with a rare opportunity to create Major League memories. Past alumni of this prestigious event include Nick Adenhart and Gio Gonzalez (2003), Buster Posey, Jeremy Hellickson, Andrew McCutchen and Justin Upton (2004), Madison Bumgarner, Matt Harvey, Jason Heyward and Rick Porcello (2006), Gerrit Cole (2007), Bryce Harper (2009)
, Jose Fernandez and Francisco Lindor (2010), Carlos Correa, Addison Russell and Joey Gallo (2011), Brady Aiken (2014), and Brendan Rodgers and Dazmon Cameron last year. In all, 109 players from previous Classics have already debuted in MLB. Seven players have been selected No. 1 overall in the Major League Baseball Draft including Upton, Harper, Cole and Aiken.

Returning for the second year in a row, Perfect Game is pleased to announce that Nike will once again serve as the official apparel provider for the 2015 installment of the Classic.

Rosters for the 2015 Classic will be unveiled as part of a streamed online video of the selection show on MLB.com at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday, July 13 as part of Major League Baseball's All-Star Game Fan Fest in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The 2015 version of the Classic will include an even stronger focus on raising money for the event’s beneficiary, Rady Children’s Hospital. In the weeks leading up to the game, every player in the Classic will have the opportunity to conduct an online fundraising contest to raise funds for the Hospital. Also, during the game, a “Stand up for the fight against cancer” will be held. Since the inception of the Classic, more than $850,000 has been raised to assist in the research of pediatric cancer.
