One of the premier arms in a talent laded 2018 class, Hankins offers as much projection as the imagination will allow for, standing at a long and very athletic 6-foot-6, 200-pounds. His fastball has had significant velocity gains over the years, now hitting 97 mph rather routinely and peaking at 98. Hankins’ arm action is extremely loose and allows him to produce the premium velocity with relative ease while filling the strike zone and showing both a breaking ball and changeup that he throws for strikes.
