2016 Top Prospects

Matthew Acosta  OF - 2016 - Chino Hills, CA

Acosta did a little of everything to impress onlookers at the showcase, as he worked at 85-88 mph on the mound, threw 91 mph from the outfield and showed major life and power potential off his bat from the left side. He also ran a 6.95 60 yard dash.

A strong catch and throw backstop, Cruce also consistently drove hard line drives in his game at-bats throughout the weekend. He also posted a 1.90 pop time.

Samad Taylor  SS - 2016 - Corona, CA

The owner of a smooth line drive swing path from both sides of the plate, Taylor's approach translates very well into game action. He also ran a 6.97 60 yard dash and threw 86 mph from shortstop.

Elijah Greene  OF - 2016 - Eastvale, CA

A live left-handed arm, Greene worked at 80-83 mph with his fastball and showed off a tight breaking ball on the mound. A primary outfielder, he also threw 86 mph from the outfield and good carry off his bat at the plate.

Ran his fastball up to 86 mph from a low three quarters arm slot, loose arm action, deep curveball and good tumble to changeup. Also showed well with the bat.

Jake Baer  MIF - 2016 - West Hills, CA

Baer put on an impressive display of power in his batting practice round, and he also carried that live bat into game action. Baer jumped out defensively as well, making some standout plays and throwing 84 mph across the diamond.

Haydan Hastings  C - 2016 - Vista, CA

One of the event's most impressive catchers, Hastings showed off an above average arm as he posted an event best 1.88 pop time. He also showed off good power potential and lift to his pull side.

Jason Ajamian  1B - 2016 - Pasadena, CA

Displayed above average bat speed as well as pull side power potential. Also ran a 7.27 60 yard dash and performed consistently in game action.

Colin Brophy  OF - 2016 - Encino, CA

After putting together a strong workout in which he ran a 6.83 60 yard dash and threw 80 mph from the outfield, Brophy continued to impress by showing good bat speed and power potential.
