2015 Organizations to Watch

Drake Browne
The PG Super25 Organization of the Year award was created during the Super25's inaugural season to reward the club that performs at the highest level throughout the entire season in all ages, 9u-17u.  This new tournament series was launched with the mission of keeping baseball a “team sport” for decades to come.  After a full season of Super25 action, travel ball clubs across the country have proven that this team aspect applies to all ages of the organization, not just a single squad.

In it’s Inaugural Season, the PG Super25 tournament series saw a total of 2,787 teams competing across the country for National Titles in each of the 9u-17u age divisions.  After reviewing all of the tournament results and conducting a staff vote, the Banditos Baseball Club out of Tomball, TX was named the 2013-2014 PG Super25 Organization of the Year.

Banditos Results from PG Super25 Tournaments:

  • Overall Record: 96-25-5 (Winning percentage of 79.34%)
  • 9 Regional Championships and 2 Regional Runners-Up
  • 2 Super Regional Championships and 2 Super Regional Runners-Up
  • Banditos teams represented in 5 of the 9 National Championships
  • 10u National Champions, 16u National Runners-Up, and 9u National Semi-finalists
While the 2015 season is just getting started, many organizations are beginning to emerge as contenders for this coveted award.  While the Banditos will be looking to repeat as champs, they will be facing stiff competition from clubs in all regions of the country.

Leading the Charge in 2015:

Tri-State Arsenal - Voorhees, NJ
The Arsenal was the only organization to win multiple National Championships in the Super25 Inaugural Season, winning both the 14u and 15u titles in Fort Myers, FL.  This storied program has produced many players that went on to play in college and the MLB, including Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim superstar Mike Trout.  2015 will be no different for the Arsenal, as they are loaded with talent and ready to take on the Super25.  One player to watch for the Arsenal is Jason Groome, a 6'6" tall LHP out of Barnegat, NJ.  Groome, a Vanderbilt commit, is ranked the No. 4 overall prospect and the top left handed pitcher in the 2016 class.

Kentucky Baseball Club - Lexington, KY
KBC is another organization with a long history of success and sending prospects to play at the next level.  Traditionally, the club has only fielded teams for the older ages but 2015 marks the launch of KBC's youth program as they will have teams in all ages 9u-17u.  While it might take time for the youth teams to catch up, the older ages have many talented players including 2017 prospect Ben Jordan.  Standing 6'8" tall, Jordan is an intimidating force on the mound who runs his fastball up to 90 MPH.

Dallas Tigers - Coppell, TX
The Tigers had an impressive showing in the first season of the PG Super25, placing multiple teams in the National Championships including a runner-up finish in the 13u division.  One player to watch is RHP Charles King, a TCU commit, who has been up to 93 MPH and is ranked the No. 13 overall prospect in the 2016 class.  While they have many other prized recruits, they pride themselves on winning as a team and playing fundamental baseball.  This is seen throughout all ages of Tigers clubs, and projects for a lot of success in 2015.
