National Notebook: May 5 | College Baseball Top 25
As the College Baseball regular season wraps up, it is time to bear down on the NCAA tournament. Selection Monday is less than three weeks from today so our "second season" is right around the corner. Let's take a look at the probable Top 8 National Seeds and the next eight Regional hosts.
Top 8 National Seeds:
1. Louisiana State
2. UCLA
3. Texas A&M
4. Illinois
5. Texas Christian
6. Louisville
7. Florida State
8. Florida
The first five in this group were lay ups. LSU has clearly separated themselves from a resume standpoint and they punctuated this with their series win over Texas A&M. UCLA remains the best team on the West Coast and the Bruins' extreme pitching depth and West Coast offense make them one of the favorites to win the whole thing. Texas A&M had begun to take on water after losing back-to-back series versus Arkansas and LSU, yet the Aggies have since righted the ship.
