16u WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4

Louisville commit, Kayden Campbell (2022 Fairfield, Ohio), was called upon to get the start on the hill for his Durham Bulls team and had a great outing. The lefthanded pitcher shows an athletic build with a high waist, proving to have plenty more in the tank down the road. He had an advanced feel for a three-pitch mix and did a great job of mixing pitches. The fastball was up to 89 mph early as it showed some arm side run. He also held velo for the entire duration of his outing as he was up to 88 mph late in the day, further proving his projection as a starter. The lefty mixed in a low 80’s cutter as well that he kept down in the zone and got a handful of check swings on it, as his slider shows out of hand but never sinks. On that note, the slider was is a swing and miss pitch as he buried it on top of righthanded hitters’ feet and got lefties knees to buckle or chase it in the dirt. He ended the day giving up just one hit, which was a bang-bang play at first base and struck out ten batters in 6 2/3 innings. Look for Campbell to make another jump in his prep career as all signs point to him in doing so.
