White Championship –
Bob Jones Patriots (3-0) vs. IMG Academy Grey (2-1)
9:00 am CT, Hoover Met Stadium

Bob Jones
Pool Play, Game 1: Defeated Daphne, 8-3
Pool Play, Game 2: Defeated Apalachee, 11-0
White Semifinals: Defeated Calera, 5-2

Bob Jones has leaned on great pitching to make it to the championship game in the White bracket. Sam Mitchell started the tournament with a 5-inning, 7-strikeout performance against Daphne, an offensive outburst in Game 2 was over after 5 innings thanks to multi-RBI games from Gavin Moran and Ryan Revera and a shutout from Benjamin Arn, and Braden Booth was lights out in the semifinal, throwing 6 innings and striking out 11.

IMG Academy Grey
Pool Play, Game 1: Defeated George W. Long, 5-2
Pool Play, Game 2: Lost to Denmark, 6-4
White Semifinals: Defeated Sparkman, 14-6

Noah Franco has been next-to-impossible to keep off the basepaths so far for IMG, as the leadoff man is hitting a ridiculous .818 (9-for-11) with a walk as well. He’s added eight runs, eight RBI, and four stolen bases on top of that. Joonsung Park, Dean Moss, and Jimmy Koza have all contributed four hits to the cause, and are all hitting over .350 for the tournament.

Red Championship – Hoover Buccaneers (3-0) vs. IMG Academy Ascenders (3-0)
11:30 am CT, Hoover Met Stadium

Hoover
Round of 16: Defeated Mountain View, 3-1
Red Quarterfinals: Defeated Northridge, 5-0
Red Semifinals: Defeated Parkview, 1-0

The Hoover pitching staff has given up just one run during their 3-0 start to the PG High School Showdown, including back-to-back complete game shutouts from Tyler Wilson and Samuel Schmidt in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. Wilson gave up five hits and struck out six on just 71 pitches, and Schmidt gave up just two hits and struck out 10 against a ranked Parkview team.

IMG Academy
Round of 16: Defeated Huntsville, 8-0
Red Quarterfinals: Defeated Hartselle, 9-3
Red Semifinals: Defeated Blessed Trinity, 3-0

IMG Academy advancing to the title game in the Red bracket is a product of dominant pitching and timely hitting. Jackson Ferris was his normal self in the Round of 16, striking out 13 in six no-hit innings, Jaewoo Cho battled long enough against Hartselle for his lineup to come from behind, and Davion Hickson gave what could be the performance of the tournament so far with his 6-inning, 15-strikeout, no-hit day against Blessed Trinity in the semifinals on just 88 pitches.

Blue Championship – Central Red Devils (3-0) vs. Hewitt-Trussville Huskies (3-0)
2:00 pm CT, Hoover Met Stadium

Central
Round of 16: Defeated Magnolia Heights, 2-0
Blue Quarterfinals: Defeated Oxford, 6-0
Blue Semifinals: Defeated Loganville, 5-4

Back-to-back shutouts on the backs of Landon Russell and Bryce Sanders got Central off to a great start, and a walkoff win in the ninth inning of their semifinal game has them one win away from a Blue bracket championship. The top four hitters in the lineup – Russell, Caleb Johnson, Jax Yoxtheimer, and Brody Capps combined for six hits in the semifinal game, with Capps driving in three. It was a Johnson single in the bottom of the ninth that sealed the deal, scoring Landon Beaver.

Hewitt-Trussville
Round of 16: Defeated South Panola, 13-0
Blue Quarterfinals: Defeated Mount Paran, 4-0
Blue Semifinals: Defeated Helena, 4-2

Riley Quick tossed a two-hit shutout and the offense exploded for 13 runs on 13 hits against South Panola. Five different Huskies had multi-hit games against South Panola, including Baker Green, who had three knocks. In the quarterfinals, Green threw a one-hit complete game shutout against Mount Paran, striking out eight. Hewitt-Trussville came from behind in its semifinal contest against Helena, scoring four unanswered runs from the third inning on, thanks in large part to Brett Moseley in the leadoff spot, who had three hits (two doubles), two runs scored, and an RBI.
