4th NW Top Prospect Could Be Best Yet

Jim Ecker
From the look of things right now, the 4th Northwest Top Prospect Showcase could be the best in the short history of this event. It will be held on Aug. 21-22 at Newport High School in Bellevue, Wash., and you can request an invitation now.

The staff at Perfect Game USA thinks there’s a lot of outstanding talent in the Pacific Northwest and we’re anxious to see them perform at this showcase. The Northwest Top Prospect typically draws players from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah and British Columbia, but we’ve also had players attend from California, Texas, Nevada and Montana.

Graduates of this event have gone on to attend Arizona State, Arizona, Washington State, Washington, Santa Clara, Cal Poly, Cal State Long Beach, Pepperdine, Portland, Seattle and Florida International. Graduates of this showcase also have been drafted by the Phils, Astros, Rockies, Angels, Diamondbacks, Cubs, Reds and Tigers.

Michael Monster, from British Columbia, holds the Northwest Top Prospect record with a 93 mph fastball, so this year’s pitchers will be gunning for that.

It’s easy to request an invitation. Simply return to the Perfect Game home page at www.PerfectGame.org, scroll to the calendar of upcoming events, find the Northwest Top Prospect Showcase and click on Request an Invite. It’s as simple as that.
