17u BCS Scout Notes: Day 3

Perfect Game Staff      Tyler Kotila
William Kirk (2024, Saddle River, N.J.) started out the weekend doing a great job in the batters’ box and has continued to hit well. However, he took to the mound on Monday and was able to put together a good outing on the mound. The left-handed pitcher worked from a three-quarters arm slot with a bigger leg lift before he gets into the arm stroke, moving down the mound. Kirk worked up to 89 mph on the fastball with some arm-side run. He showed a nice 10/4-shaped slider with a good break to it. He also showed a changeup with good depth to it. Kirk threw 2 and 2/3 innings, allowing just 1 hit, with no walks, and 6 punchouts, holding the opposition off the scoresheet. The Virginia commit has continued to hit well, hitting .455 with a double, a triple, and 4 RBI while managing a .500 on-base percentage.
