17u BCS Scout Notes: Day 5-6

Landon Smelser (2024, Johnson City, Tenn.) continued to handle the bat well for eXposure 17U National - Hale. The left-handed bat was able to work on the barrel and show off a real fluid operation top-to-bottom to find success in the batters’ box. He starts with an even base, bent knees, and hands higher before lifting the leg and striding forward with a direct path of attack. He takes the hands to it and looks to do damage. Smelser went on to hit .563 with .611 on-base percentage. He had a double and a home run to his credit, with 5 RBI as well. The uncommitted left-handed bat found ways to get on base and put together a solid performance with the bat in his hand.
