Canes North 16's Win 16u WWBA Title

Two first inning runs proved to be all that the Canes North 16s needed as Dillon Maples threw a complete game no hit shutout against the Florida Mustangs in this afternoons championship game. Maples fanned 10 batters in his seven innings of work and allowed only five base runners with three walks and two hit batters. Luke Dunlap provided the power for the Canes with a first inning two run home run which sparked a Canes offense that would go on to score six runs today. The final score of the complete seven inning championship game was 6-0 in favor of the Canes.

The Tournament MVP was Florida Mustangs 3B Trent Higginbothem who was11-23 with 12RBI 4SB and a HR this week, and was on base all three of his at bats in the championship game.

The Most Valuable Pitchers for the Tournament were the Canes starter Jake Cave who earned two wins in 14IP allowing only 6H 1R and had 18Ks and Dillon Maples whose championship game performance speaks for itself.
