Polk, 2012) all walked to start the game and came around to score on singles
from T.J. Foster (Martensdale-St. Mary's, 2012), Zachary Kockler (SE Polk,
2011), Garrett Macumber (Winterset, 2011) and Jake Nauman (Martensdale-St.
Mary's, 2012). Foster and Kockler also scored in the five-run first.
Macumber,
Colt Meinke (SE Polk, 2011), Nauman, Philip Valez (SE Polk, 2013), Robert
Walker (Martensdale-St. Mary's, 2012) and
Ethan Westphal (Martensdale-St. Mary's, 2011) all scored in the fourth on a
combination of walks and singles. Daniels, Kockler, Macumber and Nauman all
crossed again in the fifth and Black completed its scoring in the sixth when
Robert Walker smacked an RBI single to score David Walker.

2013) and Kolbi Kohl (Lisbon, 2012) all drove in runs in Navy's five-run fifth

two runs in the third, two in the fifth and three in the sixth to back Freese's effort. Freese

eventually scored.
Troendle's
triple with one out in the seventh scored

drove in runs, but Steel put it away with its three-run seventh.

run in the second on consecutive two-out singles from Colby Brecht (C.R.
Xavier, 2011), David Yancey (C.R. Kennedy, 2011) and Nathan Greve (Linn-Mar,
2013).
It
added three runs in the third, two in the fourth and four in the fifth, with Ty
Mougin (C.R. Prairie, 2013) coming up with a two-run single in the fifth.

scored a pair of runs in the second when Calvin Kragenbrink (Mount Vernon,
2013) and Jacob Scienszinski (Mount Vernon, 2011) both crossed in front of

Jake Stolley and Justin Wyant combined to pitch a two-hit
shutout as Red blanked Maroon.
Stolley (Linn-Mar, 2012) struck out six batters and allowed
two hits in three innings. Wyant (Linn-Mar, 2013) fanned four batters and did
not allow any hits during his three innings on the mound.
Jacob Dilks (Mt. Pleasant, 2013) scored two runs for Red.
Jack Strellner (Linn-Mar, 2013), Brady Hanna (Pleasant Valley, 2012) and Colton
Janssen (Starmont, 2014) also scored for Red.

Austin Fischer pitched three strong innings and Matthew
Johnson collected two hits as Maroon trimmed Red in the second game of their
doubleheader.
Fischer (Ankeny, 2011) struck out four batters, allowed only
one hit and walked one. His fastball reached 83 mph.
Johnson (Ankeny, 2013) collected a single, double and a walk
in three at-bats.

Trevar Seibert socked a triple and a three-run homer as
Columbia defeated White in the first game of their twin-bill at Linn-Mar.
John Bloom (East Marshall, 2012) and Jared Riemenschneider
(West Marshall, 2013) had two hits apiece for Columbia. Zach Sims (West Des
Moines Valley, 2011) scored three runs. Riemenschneider and Eli Egger (Waukee,
2011) scored twice.
Derrick Winter (Waukee, 2011) flashed an 83 mph fastball for
Columbia and Bloom hit 80 on the radar gun. Jack Hoffman (Dubuque Wahlert,
2011) threw 82 mph fastballs for the White team.

their double-header as the pitchers held sway.
Aaron Hundt (MFL Mar Mac, 2012) pitched three scoreless
innings for White, allowing only one hit with three strikeouts. Casey Brown
(Linn-Mar, 2012) was touched for only one run in three innings for White, and
Jared Staton (Cedar Rapids Kennedy, 2013) finished the mound chores for White
with a scoreless frame.
Ben Miller (Valley, 2013) pitched the first three innings
for Columbia. He surrendered one run on four hits and fanned two batters. Jared
Riemenschneider (West Marshall, 2013) and John Bloom (East Marshall, 2012)
