Chat transcript: Kendall Rogers' weekly college baseball chat

Fresno State coach Mike Batesole said a couple of years ago he already was looking forward to the 2011 season. That year, he said then, was going to be the one the Bulldogs returned to the national spotlight in a big way.

Apparently Batesole knew something at that point. The Bulldogs are off to an incredibly hot start this season and entered the latest Perfect Game Top 25 rankings after beating Oregon State in a midweek affair and sweeping Pepperdine over the weekend.

Florida remains No. 1 after another perfect week while fellow SEC Eastern Division representative Vanderbilt moved from No. 4 to No. 2 following its series win over Stanford. TCU remains at No. 3 despite a hard-fought series loss to Cal State Fullerton and UCLA dropped from No. 2 to No. 4 following a bad home series loss to San Jose State.

Cal State Fullerton is the new entrant to the top ten and Coastal Carolina dropped out of the rankings following a dismal showing against Kansas State, N.C. State and California.

The conference breakdowns are as follows: Pac-10 6, ACC 6, SEC 5, Big 12 3, and MWC, Big West, Conference USA, WAC and Big East all with one representative.

The Perfect Game Top 25 is released each Monday during the season, and always will include an additional listing of 25 teams to watch and a live chat with college baseball managing editor Kendall Rogers.
