PREMIUM: PG's college baseball weekly winners and losers

Every team is pushed to the limit this time of year and Virginia was no exception when it dropped the series opener to Miami over the weekend. The Cavaliers, though, responded from the loss by winning the final two games of the series. Virginia still hasn't lost a series this season and remains atop the Perfect Game Top 25 rankings.

While the Cavaliers lead the charge, the rest of the top five includes, in order, South Carolina, Texas, Oregon State and Florida State. The rest of the top 10 includes Florida, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M and TCU. Florida moved ahead of Vanderbilt as a result of a head-to-head series win, Georgia Tech moved up a spot after taking a huge home series from North Carolina and TCU entered the top 10 after yet another solid week.

Elsewhere around the rankings, Arizona State dropped from No. 8 to No. 12 after a bad series loss to USC, Fresno State climbed from No. 17 to No. 14 after a fantastic week, Stetson dropped from No. 14 to No. 17 following a losing record last week and Southern Mississippi dropped from No. 13 to No. 18 after losing a tough series at Houston.

Oklahoma State is the only team to depart from the rankings. The Cowboys dropped their second-straight home series to Baylor and are gone as a result. Florida International, which rode a 15-game winning streak to Sunday and is in the mix for the Sun Belt regular season title, entered the rankings for the first time this season at No. 24.

The conference breakdowns are as follows:  ACC 6, SEC 4, Big 12 3, Conference USA 2, Pac-10 2, Sun Belt 2 and Big East, Mid-American, MWC, Big West, Atlantic Sun and WAC all with one representative.

The Perfect Game Top 25 is released each Monday during the season, and always will include an additional listing of 25 teams to watch and a live chat with college baseball managing editor Kendall Rogers.
