As pitchers and catchers are reporting to their respective spring training sites in both Arizona and Florida, Hornsby's quote is very popular this time of year.

Fortunately for those of us that work for Perfect Game, we don't have to wait as long as others to be immersed in baseball. From the numerous showcase and tournament events we have during the winter months, including the Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase that was conducted here at our home base of Cedar Rapids, Iowa two weekends ago, there's no reason for us to stare out the window waiting for baseball.

In addition, the college baseball season is underway, and high school teams in several southern states have already begun as well.

Former big league catcher and Manager Bruce Kimm, who was also one of the original Partners of Perfect Game, recently sat down to discuss several pertinent baseball topics, including what young players can do to get noticed, managing at both the Major and Minor League levels and playing/coaching with and against iconic members of the baseball community including Nolan Ryan, Jim Leyland and Pete Rose.

Here Bruce talks about the importance of entering Spring Training with a very detailed and organized schedule, breaking down not only the priorities on a day-by-day basis, but having a concise plan minute-by-minute.
