Florida
The final Florida rankings see the two 5A finalists in the top two spots with American Heritage No. 1 and Tampa Jesuit behind them. Two more state champs are next, 6A champ Archbishop McCarthy and 8A champ Spruce Creek. Columbus ends the year at No. 5.
Other state champs in the rankings are 7A champ Venice at No. 7, 3A champ Pensacola Catholic at No. 8, and 4A Champ Providence at 17.

Great Plains
Cherry Creek (CO) cemented the No. 1 spot in the region after capturing their first Colorado 5A state championship since their dynasty days of the 1990s, with their previous title coming in 1999. The Bruins snapped a long dry spell in which they remained one of the top contenders on an almost annual basis, having lost in the state finals to Regis Jesuit last season. Cherry Creek also got to avenge last year’s title game loss by beating No. 3 Regis Jesuit in the semifinals, before defeating No. 4 Legend in the finals.
Regis finishes a spot ahead of Legend in spite of finishing a spot lower in the state tournament as the Raiders won both head to head matchups, including a 4-0 win in the state tournament, while both teams saw their seasons end with a loss to the champions, Cherry Creek. Colorado’s 4A champion Broomfield moves up to No. 8, while 3A champion Eaton enters at No. 25.
The surprise run to the Kansas 6A state championship shook things up this week. As the previously unranked champs jump all the way up to No. 7, while previous No. 2 Maize falls ten spots after being the first victim on North’s Cinderella run. Runner-up Blue Valley West comes in at No. 11, while 5A champion Bishop Carroll enters the rankings at No. 15.
Missouri’s state playoffs have wreaked havoc on the Regional Rankings in the past few weeks, now with the final four set the action resumes this weekend after having the past week off. There are no changes from arguably the strongest state in the region this week, but expect whoever comes out of the final four with the hardware to make a big jump next week.

Mid-Atlantic
South Carolina’s season is over and Ashley Ridge sits in the top spot, they are followed by Lake Braddock (VA), Hough (NC), Byrnes (SC), and Middle Creek (NC).
North Carolina’s season ends this weekend with Virginia finishing up the weekend after.
New teams this week are: No.9 Great Bridge (VA), No. 18 Cosby (VA), No. 20 Calvert Hall (MD), No. 21 St. John ‘s (DC), No. 22 Fort Mill (SC), and No. 23 Randleman (NC).

Midwest
Lake Central (IN) and Mt. Carmel (IL) remain in the top three spot but there is a lot of movement throughout the Midwest Regional Rankings. Moeller (OH) is up to No. 3 followed by Zionsville (IN), and Maine South (IL).
Ohio playoffs wrap up this weekend, with Illinois and Kentucky next week, with Indiana and Michigan the week after.
Ten new teams enter the rankings: No. 12 Lyons (IL), No. 13 New Palestine (IN), No. 14 Naperville Central (IL), No. 15 Simeon (IL), No. 16 Fort Wayne Caroll (IN), No. 18 Wapakoneta (OH), No. 19 Marist (IL), No. 20 Schaumburg (IL), No. 21 Woodford County (KY), and No. 22 New Holmes (OH).

Northeast
Salisbury School (CT) remains undefeated and the top ranked team in the region. They are followed by Grand Street Campus (NY), and a trio of New Jersey teams, Jackson Memorial, Don Bosco, and Gloucester Catholic.
Cedar Crest is the top ranked Pennsylvania team as they enter the finals of the PIAA playoffs. New Jersey state tournament will wrap up next week with New York and the rest of the region to follow the next week.
Nine new teams enter the rankings: No. 15 Council Rock South (PA), No.16 Manaplan (NJ), No. 17 Poly Prep (NY), No. 20 Lowell (MA), No. 21 Mt. Lebanon (PA), No. 22 Hunterdon Central (NJ), No. 23 La Salle College (PA), No. 24 Middlesex (NJ), and No. 25 Arlington (NY).

Northwest
No. 1 Kentwood (WA) put the finishing touches on a dominant season by capturing the Washington 4A state championship by knocking off No. 2 Puyallup (WA) 4-1 in the title game last week. The Conquerors will return their top prospect, C Reese McGuire next season, who is on the short list of top catchers in the class of 2013.
Washington’s 3A champions Kamiakin comes in at No. 3, slotting in behind the talented finalists from the 4A bracket. 3A runners-up Eastside Catholic comes in at No. 11 after their run to the title game. Washginton’s 2A state champions, Archbishop Murphy, enters the rankings at No. 21 this week.
The only thing left to settle in the Northwest region is this weekend’s state championship games in the state of Oregon. No. 4 Thurston takes on No. 12 Oregon City in the 6A championship matchup, while No. 7 Summit squares off with No. 15 Portland Wilson in the 5A game.

Pacific
The CIF Southern Section playoffs continued to shake up the Pacific Regional Rankings this week, as Division I finalist Newbury Park makes the leap to the top spot this week as they get set to play for the championship against No. 10 Corona tonight at Dodger Stadium. Newbury Park reached the finals by knocking off No. 2 Mater Dei.
The San Diego Section has a huge matchup in the Division II championship game as No. 3 Cathedral Catholic and No. 4 El Capitan meet up for the third time this season. El Capitan won the first meeting 3-0 in the Hilltop-Lolitas Tournament championship game on March 16. A few weeks later Cathedral Catholic returned the favor by winning the San Diego Lions Classic championship game 4-1 on April 5. The two teams are ranked Nos. 16 and 17 in the nation respectively. This will also be the final game of El Capitan head coach Steve Vickery’s storied 25 year coaching career at his alma mater.
Other championship matchups featuring ranked opponents include: No. 7 Pacifica vs No. 18 Aliso Niguel in the Southern Section Division II title game, No. 5 Campolindo vs No. 15 Dougherty Valley in the Central Coast Section Division II title game and No. 9 Chatsworth vs No. 24 El Camino Real in the Los Angeles Section Division I title game.
Recently crown champions include: No. 12 San Jose Valley Christian (Central Coast Section Division I), No. 13 Bullard (Central Section Division I) and undefeated No. 25 Waiakea (Hawaii Division I state champions).

Southeast
The final Southeast rankings see two familiar Georgia teams: No. 1 Parkview, the recently crowned AAAA champ and Columbus, who just won the AAA title. They are followed by other state champions: No. 3 Oak Grove (MS) and No. 4 Barbe (LA).
Other state champs in the regional ranks are No.5 Arlington (TN), Oxford (AL) at 10, Teurlings Catholic (LA) at 15, Calvary Baptist (LA), Archbishop Rummel (LA) at 22.

Southwest
The season wrapped up in the Southwest Region over the weekend as the state of Utah was the final state to crown it’s champions. American Fork captured the 5A title by knocking off Taylorsville 2-1. The win moved American Fork up a spot, jumping over Arizona Division II champion Sunnyslope and into the No. 5 slot.
Utah’s 4A champion Skyline entered the rankings at No. 19, one slot behind 3A champs Snow Canyon who finished up their season a couple of days earlier and grabbed the No. 18 spot last week.

Texahoma
No. 1 Corpus Christi Carroll opened up the Regional Final round with a 6-1 win over No. 16 Laredo Alexander on the strength of a six inning, nine strikeout performance from recently named Gatorade Texas Player of the Year Courtney Hawkins. Hawkins is projected to hear his named called in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft on Monday night, likely in the first half. He is a part of CC Carroll’s nucleus of players that won the 5A title as sophomores in 2010 and returned to Round Rock as juniors last season. They are now one win away from making a third consecutive trip.
Arguably the most exciting team this postseason has been No. 10 Southlake Carroll. Last week they knocked off El Paso Montwood in the Regional Semifinals when the two teams were ranked Nos. 14 and 15. The round prior to that they took out a strong Flower Mound squad who has spent part of the regular season in the National Top 50. Now the Dragons find themselves heading to a deciding game three against nationally ranked Arlington Martin with a trip to Round Rock on the line.
A&M Consolidated has already punched their ticket to Round Rock after sweeping their district champion Bryan to win Region II. The other team already on their way to Dell Diamond is Montgomery, who swept Santa Fe to win Region III.
