Michael Lorenzen has long been known as a player capable of doing almost anything on a baseball field. He’s shown huge velocity off the mound, opposite field power at the plate, as well as good speed and athleticism. If all of those pieces can come together, what you have is a first round quality prospect. That remains the question - can Lorenzen put all those tools to use and become the player scouts suspect he can be? And, the question that at least needs to be asked is if the scouting community should also be looking at him as a pitcher.
