Welcome to Perfect Game's first crack at projecting the 2013 MLB Draft.  David Rawnsley, Frankie Piliere, Todd Gold and myself (Patrick Ebert), along with Baseball Prospectus' Nick Faleris, will play the role of scouting director for each of the 27 teams that own at least one selection among the top 39 overall picks (the end of the Competitive Balance Round A).  These picks will be based on our own assessments of the players that are available while keeping in mind the recent drafting preferences of the teams we are responsible for.

It should be noted that this is not an attempt to project how the draft will actually shake out come June 6.  Even in mid-April it is far too early to try and pair teams to specific players.

Here are the team responsibilities:

Rawnsley:  Astros, Mets, Pirates, Yankees
Piliere:  Cardinals, Cubs, Dodgers, Phillies, Rangers, Red Sox
Gold:  Blue Jays, Indians, Mariners, Marlins, Rays, Rockies
Ebert:  Athletics, Diamondbacks, Reds, Tigers, White Sox
Faleris:  Braves, Giants, Orioles, Padres, Royals, Twins

Stay tuned to the Perfect Game MLB Draft Blog for updates as they occur.  And if you don't already, be sure to follow Rawnsley (@DavidRawnsleyPG), Piliere (@FPilierePG) Gold (@TGold_PG), Faleris (@NickJFaleris) and Ebert (@PGPatrickEbert) on Twitter.
