College power rankings: April 4

Kendall Rogers

We're just more than a month into the college baseball season and several players across the country are making significant impacts, some surprising rises, others not so much.

In our quest to always stay on track with how the nation's elite pitchers and position players are progressing, it's time to unveil the exclusive and latest Perfect Game College Power Rankings, which includes starting pitcher, relief pitcher, third base, outfield, first base, middle infield, and even head coach, as categories we rank and analyze.

As one might suspect, there are plenty of changes in every position since the latest rankings release in early March.

For instance, Mississippi State outfielder Hunter Renfroe has made a significant leap. He was ranked the No. 6 outfielder in our last rankings, but vaulted all the way to No. 1 with a huge month, hitting .436 with nine homers and 36 RBIs entering the weekend.

Also worth noting, Stanford right-handed pitcher Mark Appel spearheads the starting pitcher category. However, Oklahoma right-handed pitcher Jonathan Gray is hot on his heels, and Missouri State right-hander Nick Petree also made a giant leap.

Those changes are just the tip of the iceberg.
