The PG Super25 tournament series is officially underway for teams in all of the 9u through 17u age divisions.  The next teams to earn their spot in the "Super25" will come from the SoCal Region.  In a region with so much talent and high level baseball, these berths will not come easy.

Over 60 teams have already requested invites for the event that will be held at Baldwin Park National, Jay Littleton Stadium, and various high school fields throughout the area.  Perfect Game has a strong history of hosting top level prospects in Southern California.  Ian Kennedy, Brandon Morrow, Delmon Young, Xavier Paul, and Allen Craig have all gone on to play in the MLB after participating in the 2002 PG WWBA Pacific Coast Invitational.  The Alumni list from the 2004 WWBA Tournament in California is equally impressive, including current MLB stars Mike Leake, Freddie Freeman, Danny Espinosa, and Joe Kelly.

The Perfect Game All-American Classic first moved to SoCal in 2006, in a game that Madison Bumgarner, Matt Harvey, Jason Heyward, and Rick Porcello all played on the same team.  The PGAAC has since found a home in the region, moving to Los Angeles for 2008 and settling in at PetCo Park from 2009-2013.  Over 70 first round draft picks have come from these years and the list of players includes Sonny Gray, Gerrit Cole, Bryce Harper, Jose Fernandez, Eric Hosmer and Aaron Hicks.

While the All-American Game will not be played until August, PG will still be able to host high level talent at the PG Super25 Regionals.  One of the teams listed for the event is 14u Team Phenom Elite.  Last year, the club finished at the top of the Baseball Youth Rankings as the #1 Team in the Nation.  After defeating the San Diego Show in the finals of the 2014 PG MLK Championship, they are excited for the SoCal Regionals.

President/Founder of Phenom, Joe Keller, said, "We have been attending many events across the country and feel Perfect Game events are on another level from top to bottom than any other...First Class.  We are looking forward to bringing our 14u red, 14u white, and 15u team to the Presidents day event."

While most of PG's history in the regions comes from the high school ages, this will not be the first time that youth baseball players in SoCal are able to benefit from Perfect Game events.  Bryce Harper was only 12 years old when he attended the 2005 PG SoCA Pre-High Showcase.  After hitting two HR's in the game and throwing a 2.10 pop-time, a legend was born.

After finishing 2013 as the #7 ranked team in the nation, Easton Elite 10u is excited for the chance to play in their first Perfect Game tournament.  Head coach Joe Rodriguez said, "What PG represents is the reason why Easton Elite plays the game.  The Exposure the Student-Athlete receives is something no other organization can offer."

Registration for the event closes on Wednesday, February 12th.  For more information, please contact SoCal Regional Director Ben Herrera at ben.herrera@pgsuper25.com
