12u Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings

Bob Barth

There is a lot of chatter going on in the Mid Atlantic about PG Super 25, which is the region’s new tournament program.  All amateur baseball teams will have the opportunity to become the No. 1 team in their region and represent that region in the Perfect Game Super25 National Championship.  The Perfect Game Super25 mission is simply to keep baseball a "Team Sport" for decades to come.  By keeping teams together from the qualifying tournaments, through the regional tournaments and onto the championships, the Perfect Game Super25 emphasizes team commitment, integrity, chemistry and the reward of winning as a team.  By bringing the region together we want new teams to see new faces and create new matchups that were not created before.  With that said, the Mid Atlantic region is proud to announce the inaugural 12U pre-season rankings and honorable mentions.

Favorite: Delaware Vipers
These guys have been playing together for many years and they have great skill along with great camaraderie.  With excellent pitching and well-rounded defense, the Delaware Vipers are definitely a team to keep your eye out for.

John McAdams’ Projected Region Representative: Pittsburgh Outlaws
Going with a surprise pick here, The Outlaws have competed well and beaten some quality opponents in recent past. Some big time arms to go along with consistent hitting and defense, usually bodes well in tournament series.

Gary Wilson’s Projected Region Representative: Syracuse Sports Zone
Sports Zone has been a great name for years and they have had a ton of good teams.  Dickie Woodbridge does a great job with his guys and I know they will be disciplined.  They will be challenged this year against a couple of good teams but my prediction is that they come out on top.

Impact Matchup: #1 Delaware Vipers vs #6 Tri-State Arsenal Blue
These two teams are both in the pre-season top ten and we cant wait to see them match up.  Both teams are very well rounded with good size and speed.  There are not many differences between these guys so who ever makes less mistakes will win the game.
