Another week, another new No. 1. After spending the past two weeks in the second spot, Barbe (La.) ascends to the No. 1 ranking this week after extending their current winning streak to 17 games dating back to March 14. Previous No. 1 Archbishiop McCarthy (Fla.) slips a couple of spots to No. 3 after dropping a one run contest against No. 20 Flanagan (Fla.). McCarthy and Barbe are split up by San Diego's Cathedral Catholic, who are off to a 13-1 start on the season and boast one of the most dominant pitchers in the country in left hander Brady Aiken.

Cathedral Catholic is just one of San Diego county's two representatives in the top ten, as Rancho Bernardo moved up three spots this week to come in at No. 10. Both teams will be competing in the San Diego Lions tournament this week and could meet in a head to head matchup if both make a deep run.

The matchup to watch this week will settle who the current favorite in Texas 5A, as No. 16 Cypress Ranch takes on No. 30 Langham Creek in a two game series. Cypress Ranch entered the year with a top ten rankings, while Langham Creek was unranked to start the year but currently owns a 22-1 record and has a chance to clinch the district title this week.

A pair of northern schools have made up for lost time after sitting idle in their preseason ranking spot for the first few weeks of the season while they awaited opening day. No. 27 Salisbury Prep (Conn.) and No. 28 Puyallup (Wash.) are both off to spotless starts. Puyallup is 11-0 and has allowed just 10 runs on the season thus far. Salisbury just completed a successful trip to Florida where they knocked off both of the high school teams they faced this week, as well as one college team.

New additions this week include: No. 45 SA O'Connor (Texas), No. 46 Brother Martin (La.), No. 48 Hanover (Va.) and No. 50 South Hills (Calif.)
