TOP-15 OUTFIELD PROSPECTS
LAKELAND, Fla.--The outfielders were the strength of the East Coast Professional Baseball Showcase. Not only are there potential 1st-round picks at the top, but there’s good depth and an unusual amount of speed and athletic ability. I’m hard-pressed to recall a previous ECPBS that had as many legitimate plus runners.
Reggie Golden is ranked #1 now, but the players just behind him are more projectable and could still emerge as higher draft picks in 2010.
A handful of players on this list could end up at first base. But we feel they have enough agility and arm-strength that a corner outfield position in the big leagues is not out of reach should they advance that far in their careers.
