CARTERSVILLE, Ga. - Perfect Game Super25 is excited to announce a partnership with the Vs. Cancer Foundation for the PG Super25 13u National Championships in McKinney, Texas July 16-20.

Chase Jones, a former member of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team and founder of the organization, walked off the practice field one day his freshman year in Chapel Hill, N.C. with a pounding headache. It was shortly after when doctors discovered Jones had stage-4 brain cancer. Against the odds and with the support of his teammates, friends, and family Jones is a survivor and wanted to give the hundreds of thousands of kids diagnosed with cancer every year the support he had.

When Jones' cancer went into remission he founded Vs. Cancer, an organization dedicated to raising money for cancer research on a local and international level, ensuring the help of both "the child of today and the child of tomorrow."

Perfect Game Super25 National Director Drake Browne wanted to partner with the Vs. Cancer Foundation after he experienced firsthand the impact it had on his Furman University teammates and the kids they helped through the fundraiser.

"I first met Chase and the others with Vs. Cancer when we did our Furman Vs. Cancer fundraiser for our game against South Carolina. It was a really awesome night. We beat the #6 ranked Gamecocks, but what was even more special was what we were able to do for the little girl, Jada," said Browne.

After the big win, Browne and his teammates shaved their heads in support of cancer awareness while Jada, a fourth-grader at the time who was diagnosed with cancer, watched with a huge smile on her face knowing she had the support of the entire Furman University baseball program.

Additionally, Furman baseball raised $19,915 for Vs. Cancer, almost doubling their team goal of $10,000. Browne led the team in fundraising efforts, raising $4,345 on his own.

"After spending time with Jada and her family after the game, it was great to be able to give her a special night.  Only a few weeks later, we received a note from her family that I will never forget.  They thanked us for bringing joy to their daughter in such a tough time, but also mentioned that Jada had passed away.  That's when I realized we need to continue to support groups like the Vs. Cancer Foundation as they fight to cure kids cancer." Browne said.

For the amount of time it takes to play one inning of baseball, five kids are diagnosed with cancer worldwide. Chase Jones pledged to continue the battle against cancer until cancer is no more. Jones has Perfect Game's support and is very excited at the amazing things that will be accomplished through the partnership.

Although the details are still being worked out, Browne has promised to shave his head at the event along with other Perfect Game staff members.  Teams who earn a berth to the National Championships will have the opportunity to do so as well.
