White vs Royal Game Highlights

6/15/2019

Ryan Stefiuk (2020 LHP, Green Bay, WI) a very easy outing today. There is a lot of projection in his 6’4 frame and is already showing a fastball that is up to 91.  He has slight cross fire that gave him some deception, especially working to the glove side.  His slider showed 10-4 shape and was very hard for hitters to pick up. Vandy commit

Ty Floyd (2020 RHP, Rockmart, GA) a lightning quick arm.  He has a boxed delivery that he repeated well throughout his outing.  His 91-93 fastball got on hitters very quickly and he mixed a sharp curveball at 72-75.  He produced a lot of swing and misses today. LSU commit

Carter Baumler (2020 RHP, Grimes, IA) the mound today and showed a very athletic delivery. He has quick hips, a short arm action, and hides the ball well behind his body.  His fastball peaked at 93 and he showed a swing and miss slider in the 79-81 range.  All 6 outs were recorded via the strikeout! TCU commit

Cade Smith (2020 RHP, Southaven, MS) deception in his up-tempo delivery that was very hard for hitters to time up.  He had a long and loose arm action and he got extension on his 90-92/3 fastball.  His 79-81 curveball showed late downer action and he pounded the zone with both pitches during his outing.  He struck out 4 batters during his two innings. Miss State commit

Sebastian "Bazz" Jimenez (2020 C, Miami, FL) a very good job behind the plate at this event.  He shows loose hips and receives the ball really well. He recorded two hits on the weekend including a base hit to the middle today.  FIU commit

Magdiel Cotto (2020 LHP, Fort Mill, SC) very good downhill angle with his 6’3 frame and very long arms. He fired fastballs in the 87-89 range to both sides of the plate.  He had feel for his 76-78 curveball and also threw a 77-78 changeup that was a very nice offering with late fade.  South Carolina commit

Danny Neri (2020 C, Macclenny, FL)a good day working a walk and hitting a very loud single to the pull side.  He has very quick hands at the plate, with a direct path, and feel for the barrel. He also threw out a runner trying to steal second base today. Georgia Tech commit

Aaron Combs (2020 RHP, Bradenton, FL)good projection in his 6’3 and athletic frame.  He has a quick arm and throws form a low 3/4 slot with a fastball that sat 89-90.  His developing slider showed solid shape and he got a strikeout on an 80 MPH change up that showed deceptive hand speed.  Coastal Carolina commit

Trevor Long (2020 OF, Scottsdale, AZ)on a fastball that got to the left field wall in a hurry for a stand-up double.  He is a physical prospect with present bat speed that easily translates to the game. Arizona commit

Marcus Brown (2020 SS, Springdale, AR) a great overall weekend here in Arizona.  He made a handful of defensive plays on the run, keeping balance throughout, and making strong accurate throws.  He had a hit yesterday and added a two strike RBI single today.  Kentucky commit

Grayson Moore (2020 OF, Longwood, FL) has extreme projection in his 6’4 and 185 pound frame. Full arm circle and gets good extension to create a tough angle for hitters.  He is very athletic running a 6.65 and throwing 98 during workouts earlier in the event.  Today he sat 89-91 while landing both a 73 curveball and 78 change up for strikes. UCF commit

Camden Hill (2020 1B, Madison, AL) a good 2-way player with power in his left handed bat. He showed his pitching ability today with a steady 88-90 fastball from a high 3/4 slot.  He flashed a usable 73 slider and a firm 83 changeup.  A ton of upside from this left handed prospect. Auburn commit

John Martin (2020 OF, Port Saint Lucie, FL) 87-90 with his fastball and added a sharp slider at 78. He has a slender frame with fluid hip action and projects for more velocity as he matures. He is a very good uncommitted prospect.

Jordan Thompson (2020 SS, Chula Vista, CA) is a smooth athlete and showed very good infield actions this weekend while also showcasing the ability to take consistent quality at bats.  He displayed his overall game stepping on the mound with a fastball that peaked at 93.  His delivery has rhythm and he has great body control throughout.  The game just looks easy when watching him. LSU commit

Ben Grable (2020 SS, Pasadena, CA)has a projectable 6’4 frame and long loose levers that create easy bat speed.  He hammered a ball to the opposite field gap in left-center field for a triple.  The uncommitted prospect also pitched and has a fastball that topped at 92.

Ryan Targac (2020 SS, Hallettsville, TX)the switch hitter looked great from both sides of the plate this weekend.  His final at bat of the weekend was from the left side, where his elite bat speed centered a fastball that landed in the right field bleachers for a no doubt homerun.  Texas A&M commit

10-Red vs. 11-Vegas Gold Highlights

6/15/2019

Dylan Carmouche (2020 LHP, Denham Springs, LA) worked from two differing deliveries with a low arm angle or submarine slot to produce a fastball up to 89 mph. The ULL commit creates a very tough angle to hitters and is an uncomfortable at-bat especially to lefthanded hitters. Carmouche has three pitches with feel with a projectable frame and athleticism present in his actions.

Adam Boucher (2020 RHP, Metuchen, NJ) uses a long and loose arm action to sit 89-91 mph with his fastball and create some extension. Boucher made quick work of his outing filling up the strike zone with a downhill plane to his fastball and a 12-6 curveball for strikes as well.

John Montes (2020 SS, Toa Alta, PR) went down to get a low fastball while getting the barrel of the bat to it and lacing it to right field for a hard single. Montes showed plenty of balance at the plate with a confident approach. That barrel control was highlighted a second as well as a third time in the contest as he followed that first single with two more to the pull side.

Garret Guillemette (2020 C, Yorba Linda, CA) fired a strike to second base from his catching position with a 2.12 second pop time to throw out a runner on a caught stealing. The uncommitted backstop has a strong arm with accuracy to the bag.

Hector Andrades (2020 RHP, Bayamon, PR) came in out of the bullpen showing a lively fastball sitting 90-93. Andrades made the trip from Puerto Rico to Phoenix, Arizona as a pitcher only who showed promising velocity from his loose arm and developing spin.

Nick Vieira (2020 RHP, Margate, FL) has projection on the mound with a fastball up to 89 mph and a projectable frame. His arm works from a full arm stroke with a feel to spin and the ability to work the corners for strikes.

Josh Moylan (2020 1B, Stoney Beach, MD) made a strong swing at the plate to drive a deep double the other way. Moylan has outstanding strength at the plate present in his swing and noted in his 100 mph exit velocity off of a tee in drills.

Xander Stephens (2020 RHP, Lilburn, GA) showcased an effective three pitch mix with a fastball in the 87-90 mph range and a deceptive changeup in the low-80s to get lefties out and a slider with sharpness to retire righthanded hitters. Stephens, a Georgia Southern commit, pitched a pair of strong innings pounding the strike zone with command to both sides of the plate.

Gilberto Torres (2020 SS, Salinas, PR) collected a pair of hits in the contest showing a line drive swing plane and a contact-oriented approach. Torres uses a big leg lift into contact with solid balance to time up pitches and get the barrel to the ball.

Jadon Bercovich (2020 RHP, Reno, NV) throws with a low-90s fastball and a great feel for a low-80s changeup. He also mixed in a slider with some sharpness from a working arm and a high three-quarters arm slot.

Reece Lawler (2020 RHP, Gurnee, IL) has a clean arm action and an effortless delivery to produce upper-80s velocity and a downhill plane. Lawler has a highly projectable frame and plenty more in the tank with proper development.

Hank Thomas (2020 OF, Oxford, OH), a Georgia Tech commit, squared up a double to the opposite field gap showing an all fields approach and a feel for the barrel. Thomas’ barrel control is impressive as the future Yellow Jacket showed on this extra base hit in particular.

Jake Deleo (2020 OF, Norwalk, CT) beat out a pair of infield singles in the game showcasing his speed down the line. Deleo ran times from home to first of 4.15 and 4.25 on each individual burst down the first bas line.

Brad Grenkoski (2020 OF, Kennesaw, GA) has a highly projectable frame on the mound with a longer arm action with plenty of looseness to it through the back. The two-way Georgia Tech commit has outstanding arm strength and plenty of extension out in front to create a tough at-bat for opposing hitters. His fastball sat 88-90 mph with a sharp slider sat 78 mph.

Nathan Cmeyla (2020 C, Ashburn, VA) connected on a double down the pull side line. Cmeyla has a balanced stance at the plate with some whip to his barrel through the hitting zone while creating a clean path to contact.

Jonathan Vaughns (2020 3B, Glendora, CA) worked a 1-2-3 inning in the 11th with a fastball up to 90 mph and a sharp slider for strikes. Vaughns gets downhill with his delivery with plenty of life to his fastball out of his hand.

White vs. Vegas Gold Highlights

6/14/2019

Ryan Bruno (2020 LHP, Wellington, FL) looks the part of a high-end arm with broad shoulders and a loose frame. A Stanford commit, Bruno ran his fastball up to 94 mph early in the contest with a quick left arm and big angle while mixing in a changeup at 82 mph and a slider at 78 mph with occasional bite to the back foot. He struck out five over two innings

Blade Tidwell (2020 RHP, Loretto, TN) is a projectable Tennessee commit who showed off his arm strength from the mound, running his fastball up to 92 mph with some sinking life down in the zone. He curveball showed bite to it down in the zone when on top and he also flashed a changeup at 76 mph.

Wyatt Langford (2020 3B, Trenton, FL) showed no problem barreling up velocity as he sent a fastball back up the middle for a hard line drive single, showing plenty of strength at the point of impact. In his final at-bat of the night Langford sat back on a curveball and turned on it for a two base hit in the bottom half of the final frame for a two-hit night.

Brayden Rowe (2020 RHP, Warrior, AL) came out pounding the zone for the White team, topping out at 90 mph with some running life from an extended slot. He’s committed to Alabama and showed a nice feel for a breaking ball up to 80 mph and a two-seamer with hard running like up to 86 mph which he used to help pick up four strike outs.

Nolan Schanuel (2020 OF, Boynton Beach, FL) picked up the first hit of the game for the White squad in his first trip to the plate, promptly line a pitch hard into center field for a single showing quickness to his lefthanded stroke. In his second at-bat he picked up an infield single on a chopper to the left side which he managed to beat out by a step down the line.

Over his two innings of work Francisco Hernandez (2020 RHP, Laredo, TX), an Oklahoma State commit, recorded five of his six outs via workout. He ran his fastball up to 91 mph with some plane to the bottom of the zone and mixed in his best curveball at 73 mph with bite to it.

Michael Fowler (2020 RHP, Trussville, AL) has a fast and whippy arm action, helping to generate a fastball up to 91 mph with which he was able to pound the glove side and make lefthanded hitters very uncomfortable. His 77-81 slider showed tight spin and broke a bat in his first inning while also mixing in a changeup in the low-80s as well. He finished with five punch outs on the day.

Josh Swales (2020 RHP, Porter Ranch, CA) showed one of the better fastballs on the day as he topped out at 94 mph early in his outing. He’s a California native committed to the nearby Arizona Wildcats and worked predominantly off of his fastball which offered sinking life though he also showed some bite to an upper-70s curveball.

Another Alabama native who showed well today was uncommitted righthander Nick Brown (2020 RHP, Madison, AL). Thanks to a quick arm stroke Brown topped out at 93 mph with sinking life down in the zone and mixed in a nice changeup as well.

Drew Dowd (2020 LHP, Belmont, CA), a lefthanded Stanford commit, was able to create some big angle on his fastball which topped out at 91 mph, generating nice plane to the bottom part of the zone. There’s more velocity in the tank for Dowd and he also showed a curveball up to 77 mph with tight spin and some depth.

Like his twin brother, Jaden Bruno (2020 RHP, Wellington, FL) showed off some impressive arm strength during his time on the mound, sitting in the low-90s early on with his fastball, bumping upwards of 92 mph from the right side. He attacked hitters with his fastball and was able to miss bats while mixing in a pair of secondaries.

Full of quick-twitch muscle, NC State commit Nate McCollum (2020 OF, McDonough, GA) showed off his athleticism and foot speed in left field late in the game with a fully extended grab which would've got for a base knock if not for the catch.

Kala'i Rosario (2020 OF, Papaikou, HI) made a similar catch for the White team, ranging into the left-center field gap on a well struck ball off the bat to take away what would have been definite extra bases with a diving grab.

Paulshawn Pasqualotto (2020 RHP, Las Vegas, NV) is another uncommitted arm who should garner plenty of attention, potentially as a two-way after the performance showed in batting practice. On the mound the righthander topped out at 91mph with his heater and also mixed in a changeup in the low- to mid-70s with fading life.

Sebastian "Bazz" Jimenez (2020 C, Miami, FL) and Jordan Thompson (2020 SS, Chula Vista, CA) got some offense going for the White team late in the game with back-to-back singles. Jimenez got a changeup on the inner half that he pulled through into left field before stealing a bag and Thompson also put a changeup into the outfield grass for a single to center field.

9-Red vs. 10-Royal Game Highlights

6/14/2019

Ryan Lynch (2020 LHP, Granger, IN) worked a quick two innings where he struck out three batters. The Notre Dame commit worked up to 90 mph with excellent angle and mixed in both a curveball and slider as well as a changeup with a big velocity differential and sinking action.

Cannon Pickell (2020 RHP, Moyock, NC) is a physical righthander committed to North Carolina who has a power arsenal on the mound. Pickell has a live arm with a fastball that ranged 89-92 mph along with a swing-and-miss breaking ball in the upper-70s with late tilting life.

John Montes (2020 SS, Toa Alta, PR) is a twitchy and athletic shortstop who smoked a double into the left centerfield gap past the shortstop to plate two runs. Montes has a short and compact stroke with fast hands and uses the entire field to his advantage.

Jovan Gill (2020 RHP, Fort Myers, FL) is a Stetson commit and hides the ball well to create some deception. He worked mostly 90-93 mph on the afternoon and showed some late life to the pitch. Gill's best secondary offering was a late sinking changeup in the upper-70s that he utilized to neutralize lefthanded hitters.

Rece Ritchey (2020 LHP, Huntingdon, PA) is committed to Virginia and has a lot to like out of a projectable lefthander. He worked 88-91 mph with the fastball showing good angle and life from a lower slot while mixing in a power slider along with a loose and fast arm that projects for additional velocity.

Ryan Hagenow (2020 RHP, Knoxville, TN) was electric over two very fast innings on the mound as the Kentucky commit struck out all six batters he faced. Hagenow worked 89-92 mph on the mound from a lower slot with sinking life. The changeup was a weapon against lefthanded hitters with good action and showed a two-plane slider with promise.

Kevin Matos (2020 RHP, San Juan, PR) topped out at 91 mph on the mound while getting good extension out in front. He showed three pitches for strikes and worked within the strike zone while showing feel to mix speeds and locate secondaries.

Tomas Frick (2020 C, Greenville, SC) showed good barrel control and the ability to cover the plate and work to the opposite field. In his first at-bat the North Carolina commit lined a hard hit fly ball to right field and in his second at-bat Frick went with an outside curveball on a line drive single to right field.

Nicholas Del Prado (2020 RHP, Miami, FL) is an uncommitted righthander who worked up to 91 mph from an over the top arm slot. He creates plane when low while also mixing in a sweeping breaking ball.

Cooper Ingle (2020 C, Asheville, NC) collected two hits on the afternoon as the Clemson commit was hitting the ball hard. He showed off the wheels by beating out an infield single in his first at-bat before hitting a hard hit line drive back up the middle in his second at-bat to plate two runs.

Gerardo Cuevas (2020 RHP, Southlake, TX) has a compact arm stroke and hides the ball well to create added deception on his fastball that sat 89-91 mph. He's committed to Houston and has a quick arm stroke and filled up the strike zone with his fastball.

Marcus Brown (2020 SS, Springdale, AR) broke up the combined no-hitter with a hard hit single through the opposite field side of the infield. The Kentucky commit has a knack for finding the barrel and showed good athleticism and balance in the middle infield.

Theo Millas (2020 RHP, Burnaby, BC) is a big, physical righthanded pitcher committed to LSU who worked 89-91 with good sinking life on his fastball. He mixed in a two-plane breaking ball with sweeping break that he could land for strikes to keep hitters off balance.

John Miralia (2020 LHP, Charlotte, NC) works from an over the top arm slot to create significant plane on his 88-90/91 mph fastball. Committed to Duke, Miralia has a lot of upside from a 6-foot-7 frame along with a true 12/6 skyhook with good spin that he could drop in for strikes.

Purple vs Green Highlights

6/14/2019

Gage Bradley (2020, RHP, Clarksville, TN) has fluidity in his slender athletic frame, he has long arms for his size and gets good extension out front on his fastball that touched 91. He used an effective curveball in the 73-76 range and flashed a 77 changeup. He threw two quick innings striking out four. Vanderbilt commit

Cade Udell (2020, RHP, Longwood, FL) worked 86-90/1 from a 3/4 slot, showed a breaking ball that was up to 75 that produced a few swing and misses. His 3-pitch mix will be very good as he continues to refine his delivery. Duke commit

Alex Urban (2020, OF, Lexington, KY) has a compact swing and uses a very tight turn to produce exciting bat speed.  He put a charge into a hanging changeup and hit a triple well over the right fielder’s head. Clemson commit

Caden Grice (2020, LHP, 1B, Geer, SC) has a picturesque 6’5 frame, long and loose arm action, his fastball showed life and sat 87-90 and produced groundballs throughout his outing. He displayed an 11/5 curveball up to 80 and added a 81-82 change up for a true three pitch mix.  Good upside for the southpaw as he adds strength. Clemson commit

Tekaoh Roby (2020, RHP, Pensacola, FL) has a boxed frame with long legs and longs arms, his delivery was simple and athletic and it produced electric arm speed.  The ball jumped out of his hand on his fastball ranging from 90-93/4, he also mixed a swing and miss curveball at 78 and a developing change up at 80.  The overall arsenal is very impressive.  Troy commit

Ross Dunn (2020, LHP, Salt Lake City, UT) is tall with a strong frame and produced fastballs at a steady 89-92/3, heavy with downward angle, he mixed an 81-82 cutter with some depth and kept his hand speed up on his 82 MPH changeup. He pounded the zone with all three offerings. Kentucky commit

7-Navy vs. 8-Purple Highlights

6/13/2019

Tyler Chadwick (2020 RHP, Marshall, WI) uses his tall and athletic frame and clean arm action to produce a low-90s fastball and average upper-70s curveball to retire batters quickly. Chadwick, a West Virginia commit, creates a steep downhill plane and fills up the zone to both sides of the plate.

Trevor Kilinski (2020 3B, Zeeland, MI) made the play of the day early on in the contest as he ranged from third base to run a long distance to track down a pop up on in left field foul territory. Killinski went to his knees with his back to the plate to make an outstanding grab.

Jackson Nezuh (2020 RHP, St. Cloud, FL) uses a clean delivery and quick arm to stay online to the plate and create fastball up to 91mph. The Florida commit has a full arm stroke that gets out in front with some extension. Nezuh mixes in a mid-70s curveball with some shape while projecting for more velocity moving forward.

Holden Phelps (2020 RHP, Crystal Lake, IL) is an uncommitted pitcher who made a nice impression on the mound pitching with a long arm action and a fastball that worked in the upper-80s touching 90. Phelps has a physical and large frame working downhill with some extension and a curveball that projects well.

Ildefonso Ruiz (2020 C, San Ysidro, CA) jumped all over a fastball over the heart of the plate splitting the gap in left-center field for a triple. Ruiz has plenty of present strength to his swing and jump off of the barrel as presented by his triple in this game.

Will Sanders (2020 RHP, Atlanta, GA) is a tall and athletic righthander with a loose arm and a feel for the strike zone. Sanders sits 89-91 with his fastball and also offers a pair of secondaries that project well moving forward in his short-breaking slider and above average changeup.

Ben Vespi (2020 RHP, Boynton Beach, FL) has outstanding projection on the mound with a clean arm action and plenty of balance to his operation. Vespi delivery combined with the way his arm works shows plenty of promise that he will continue to improve on a fastball that peaks at 89 mph.

CJ Kayfus (2020 1B, Wellington, FL) showcased a professional approach at the plate sitting back on the baseball for a barreled single to the opposite field. Kayfus waited back on a breaking ball with good balance at the plate before throwing his hands at the pitch with a line drive swing plane.

Jake Brooks (2020 RHP, Fountain Valley, CA) has a projectable delivery with a fastball up to 88 and a working, compact arm action. Brooks stays online to the plate with feel for a changeup and a life on his fastball releasing from a balanced delivery and high three-quarters arm slot.

Carson Hamro (2020 RHP, Vista, CA) utilizes a long and loose arm action through the back to produce a fastball up to a 91. Hamro, is an uncommitted righthander from California who works across his body offering a fastball, slider combination of pitches to opposing hitters. The curveball projects well flashing plus with very tight spin in the upper-70s.

Alberto McCarthy (2020 LHP, Melbourne, FL) presents a deceptive delivery to opposing hitters coming from a three-quarters arm slot and a tough angle. The Stetson commit sits in the upper-80s with his fastball while mixing in a 1-to-7 curveball with depth.

Kenneth Levari (2020 SS, Vineland, NJ) made the trip to Chase Field in Phoenix from his hometown of Vineland, New Jersey and showcased an overhead delivery up to 92 mph. The primary shortstop has a loose arm action with a deep reach as well as the ability to create a downhill plane.

Gray vs. Green Highlights

6/13/2019

Jacob Gonzalez (2020 SS, Glendora, CA) got the offense going right away with an opposite field double in a left on left match, sneaking a ground ball down the line in his first at-bat of the showcase. The Ole Miss commit also showed his arm strength across the diamond from third base with carry before barreling another ball to the opposite field for a single to drive in a couple of runs.

Luke Baker (2020 LHP, Gainesville, FL) an Ole Miss commit, came out and opened the game showing a feel for four distinct pitches and landed them all in the zone while mixing regularly. His fastball worked in the mid- to upper-80s from an extended slow and showed both a curveball and slider as well as a changeup with fading life.

Collin Bosley-Smith (2020 RHP, Washington, DC) opened the with a fastball that sat in the 89-92 mph from a higher slot with which he’s able to generate steep plane with sinking life. The slider was a second pitch with above average potential showing sharp bite to the bottom of the zone.

Tommy Troy (2020 SS, Los Gatos, CA) made a loud impression in his first at-bat after a solid opening day during the drills. The strongly built Stanford commit barreled a fastball to the pull side gap for a double, showing strength off his barrel and plenty of bat speed through the zone. He also stole a few bags and made two nice defensive plays at shortstop with plenty of arm strength.

Both Nick Gorby (2020 LHP, Port St Lucie, FL) and Wyatt Tucker (2020 RHP, Douglass, TX) matched each other with a pair of quick innings. Gorby, a Texas Tech commit, ran his fastball up to 91 mph from the left side with a pair of breaking balls for strikes while Tucker, a Texas A&M commit, worked in the upper-80s and was able to generate weak ground ball contact in his first inning working down in the zone.

Hunter Donaldson (2020 SS, Salem, AL) made one of the better defensive plays early on in the game as he came charging in on a chopped ground ball and made a throw across his body to get the runner at first base on a bang-bang play.

Fernando Gonzalez (2020 C, Acworth, GA) was excellent behind the dish today in terms of his catch and throw skills, delivery multiple strikes down to second base with sub-two pop times and plenty of carry on his throws.

Zachary Murray (2020 RHP, Buford, GA) filled up the strike zone during his two innings, running his fastball up to 91 mph early on, living in the 89-91 mph range in the first. He worked down well and showed lots of comfort landing his curveball for strikes, doubling up on it at times.

Najer Victor (2020 RHP, Clermont, FL) shows plenty of twitch and athleticism to his delivery, as well as a fast arm as he ran his fastball up to 93 mph in the first. He worked on top of the pitch well with subtle sink when down and showed a breaking ball that will continue to develop moving forward.

Ben Schorr (2020 C, Columbus, GA) impressed with his defensive abilities yesterday during the drills portion of the event from behind the plate and picked up a broken bat double that fell into left field in his second drip to the plate.

Michael Davinni (2020 3B, Laguna Niguel, CA) is a strongly built third baseman committed to San Diego and he used that strength during one of his at-bats, barreling up a hard single to his pull side. He also jumped on the mound for an inning to close out the game and topped out at 91 mph while mixing in a curveball for strikes.

2- Columbia Blue vs. 4-Gold Highlights

6/12/2019

Marquis Grissom Jr (2020 RHP, Atlanta, GA) reached 90 mph with his fastball working it to both sides of the plate. The righthander committed to Georgia Tech featured a curveball and a changeup that each show outstanding potential on top of his projectable delivery.

Dylan Crews (2020 OF, Longwood, FL) opened up the game with a loud barrel at the plate driving a triple to the opposite field while sitting back on a breaking ball. The LSU commit swings with intent and drives the ball when squared. The ball explodes off of his bat as it did on Wednesday.

Coby Mayo (2020 3B, Coral Springs, FL), a UCF commit, jumped on the first pitch he saw at the plate ripping it through the 5-6 hole for a single. Mayo has a strong swing with plenty of strength as he gets his hips torqued and unloads into contact. He followed that up with a second single to the pull side with a similar aggressive approach at the plate.

Ty Collins (2020 RHP, Los Angeles, CA) uses a high three-quarters arm action and a steep downhill plane to the plate while sitting 88-92 mph. He mixed in a curveball that flashed average from a full arm action.

Jordan Walker (2020 3B, Stone Mountain, GA) jumped on a breaking ball over the heart of the plate for a double down the pull side line in his first at-bat. He followed that up in his final at-bat with a similar double down the left field line getting his hands inside and driving through the baseball. Walker stands at an outstandingly projectable 6-foot-5 and has a loose and fluid stroke at the plate with plenty of potential power.

Jackson Fristoe (2020 RHP, Paducah, KY) lit up the radar gun quickly with a fastball that sat 92-94 mph and a four pitch mix with outstanding projectability. His slider is a sharp and downward, curveball has plenty of depth and changeup has fade from a high intensity delivery.

Chase Centala (2020 RHP, Tampa, FL) has a deceptive delivery on the mound sitting 88-91 mph on the bump. His crossfire release as well as his ability to tunnel all three of his pitches from a similar slot make Centala very tough to square up.

Wyatt Crowell (2020 LHP, Cumming, GA) filled up the strike zone with a fastball and a slider that comes from a very tough angle to hitters. His fastball sat at 88-90 mph with a slider that was very effective in missing barrels and getting swings and misses while showing two-plane shape.

Alex Freeland (2020 SS, Cape Coral, FL) is a switch hitter who did his damage in this game from the left side as he sent a double deep into the opposite field gap. Freeland gets to the baseball on time with an outstanding feel for the barrel and confident approach.

George Klassen (2020 RHP, Port Washington, WI) is a lean 6-foot-2 righthanded pitcher with plenty of physical projection remaining. Klassen has a clean and quick arm action while releasing with intent at 91-94 mph. He featured a power curveball with sharp downhill bite as well.

Carson Swilling (2020 RHP, Smith Station, AL) filled up the strike zone with his fastball and curveball combination. Swilling has a clean delivery with a fastball that sits 91-93 mph and an 11-5 curveball with late bite and depth.

Jack O'Dowd (2020 SS, Nashville, TN) has a downhill swing plane at the plate and connected on a pair of hits in the game each going to the middle of the field for singles. The Vanderbilt commit did a nice job of staying balanced at the plate and hitting the ball out in front.

John (TJ) Curd (2020 1B, Port Saint Lucie, FL) made the play of the day in the field with an over the shoulder basket catch. The first baseman made a quick first step to the ball in foul territory before the catch. His swing at the plate has outstanding power that he showcased in batting practice as well.

Corey Collins (2020 C, Suwanee, GA) had another big-time day at Chase Field throwing out a runner with a 2.03 in-game pop time from behind the plate and a loud barrel at the plate. His swing has plenty of strength present and he has done an really nice job the past two days getting the bat head to the baseball.

Black vs. Maroon Highlights

6/12/2019

Maxwell Carlson (2020 RHP, Savage, MN)shows lots of quickness to his arm action and is able to generate extension out front and plane on the fastball, running the pitch up to 92 mph early on. His changeup proved to be the go-to offering with late fading life and a replicated release point and arm speed at release.

Nicholas Griffin (2020 OF, Monticello, AR) is listed as a primary outfielder but the Arkansas commit took the mound to open the game for the Black team. When working on top of the ball the lefthander was able to generate plane with sinking life on his fastball up to 91 mph while mixing in both a slider and curveball.

AJ Vukovich (2020 3B, Mukwonago, WI) wasted little time making an impression offensively today as he jumped all over a fastball and barreled it hard to the pull side gap for a two base hit, moving well around the bases with long and easy strides.

Cade Horton (2020 SS, Norman, OK) performed well on both sides of the ball today, first making a nice play at second base where he ranged up the middle and made a strong throw across his body. He followed that up with a loud barreled triple to deep center field on an 89 mph, showing a quick bat and plenty of strength at the point of impact. He also jumped on the mound and ran his fastball up to 94 mph with a fast arm and a hard, tight breaker at 83 mph.

Kevin Parada (2020 C, Pasadena, CA), last year’s MVP at the WWBA World Championships, showed no problem pulling the barrel in on a 92 mph fastball and squared it up down the pull side line for a loud, standup double. He followed up his double with another base knock, this time a line drive single over the shortstop’s head.

Jake Eddington (2020 RHP, Doniphan, MO) is an Alabama commit out of Missouri and showed a loose arm action during his time on the mound in Arizona. He worked in the 89-91 mph range with his fastball early on and mixed in a tight slider in the low-80s for strikes.

Travis Sthele (2020 RHP, San Antonio, TX), a Texas commit, came out and immediately showed a full three pitch mixed, highlighted by a fastball up to 93 mph. Working to an over-the-top slot Sthele was able to create plane on his fastball and showed late tumbling life on the changeup while spinning a hard slider up to 83 mph.

Joe Vetrano (2020 LHP, Shrub Oak, NY) showed his strength off the barrel during his round of batting practice opening day with a couple of long home runs before picking up a double down the opposite field line in his first at-bat of day two. He also worked an inning on the mound and lived in the upper-80s, touching 89 mph with his fastball and flashed a changeup at 75 mph.

Benjamin Wiegman (2020 RHP, Antioch, IL) of the Royal club threw his two innings for the Maroon club. The Louisville commit lived in the 88-90 mph range comfortably and topped out at 92 mph, showing a quick arm and mixing in a breaking ball for strikes.

Cayden Wallace (2020 3B, Greenbrier, AR) has established himself as one of the most consistent bats in the 2020 class and not much has changed here in Arizona. There’s excellent rhythm to his swing, from the load to the execution, as well as plenty of strength has he barreled a ball hard back up the middle for a single.

Michael Brown (2020 1B, Vacaville, CA) delivered a big “wow” moment on the first pitch of his second at-bat as he turned on a fastball and delivered it over the right field fence for a no-doubt shot the moment he put the barrel on the ball. He’s still uncommitted but is quickly establishing himself as having some of the best raw power in the class.

Kyle Harrison (2020 LHP, Danville, CA) was superb in his first inning of work, pounding the zone as all eight of his pitches went for strikes. He works from a lower slot on the mound and ran his fastball up to 93 mph with short sinking life, creating angle to either side of the plate while landing a slider for strikes as well.

Ben Hernandez (2020 RHP, Chicago, IL) is an Illinois-Chicago commit who jumped on the mound for the Maroon team and impressed. He worked on top of his fastball well and generated an easy 91-93 mph on the pitch with some life while mixing in an advanced changeup with plus action down in the zone at 83 mph as well as a 12-6 shaped curveball.

Blaze Jordan (2020 1B, Southaven, MS) continued to show off his hit tool despite being one of the younger players in attendance, twice singling the to the opposite field while showing a handle for the barrel.

3-Maroon vs. 4-Gold Highlights

6/11/2019

Jared Jones (2020 RHP, Whittier, CA) showed a plus fastball on the mound ranging from 93-96 mph with a sharp curveball in the upper-70s and a 90 mph sinking changeup. His delivery is relatively easy with an online working arm and lots of jump out of his hand.

Carson Montgomery (2020 RHP, Windermere, FL) showcased a fastball that sat 91-93 mph while touching 94 once as well. Montgomery is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound righthander with a heavy fastball, a power breaking ball and a straight changeup.

Corey Collins (2020 C, Suwanee, GA) made his presence felt in the game quickly with a 2.01 second pop time behind the plate to throw out a runner in the bottom of the first inning. He followed that open with a barreled triple to his pull side leveraging the ball that one hopped the right field wall at Chase Field.

Chase Davis (2020 OF, Elk Grove, CA) produced the loudest contact of the day with his double down the right field line. Davis’ swing has lots of present juice with projectable power and a whippy barrel through the hitting zone.

Ed Howard (2020 SS, Lynwood, IL) has a loose swing and fluid swing that he displayed in the late afternoon game at Chase Field. The Oklahoma commit sat back on a breaking ball in his first at-bat to line it up the middle for an RBI single to tie the game at one.

Lucas Gordon (2020 LHP, Los Angeles, CA) is a lefthanded pitcher whose lively fastball reached 89 mph while flashing an above average changeup and big 1-7 curveball. He pounded the strike zone with all three of his pitches while tossing a pair of perfect innings with three punchouts.

Miles Garrett (2020 RHP, Stone Mountain, GA) has a quick arm on the mound where he displays a fastball in the upper-80s to low-90s up to 91 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. The Vanderbilt commit worked to all parts of the strike zone flashing life to his fastball and feel for three pitches while working a pair of innings.

Alek Boychuk (2020 C, Buford, GA) executed a perfect throw down to second base from behind the plate to throw out a hitter in the third inning. He popped a 2.10 second pop time showing a quick transfer and a strong, accurate arm.

Slade Wilks (2020 OF, Columbia, MS) has a physical presence in the lefthanded batter’s box with a strong swing at the plate. When he squares up the baseball and is on time to the point of impact, the ball jumps off of his bat with a very high exit velocity as it did on his line drive single to right field in this game.

Steven Ondina (2020 SS, Gurabo, PR)
took his all fields approach jumping on the first pitch and lacing it to right field for an RBI single. Ondina takes a short stride into contact with a fluid path to contact and an overall loose swing.

Mick Abel (2020 RHP, Tigard, OR) showed some of the most promising stuff on the mound throughout the day. His fastball topped out at 97 mph while not dipping below 92 with a curveball that already showed plus. Abel, an Oregon State commit, has outstanding projectability on the mound frame an ideal build and an ultra-clean delivery.

Jackson Phipps (2020 LHP, Dallas, GA) worked to both sides of the plate with his 89-91 mph fastball and sharp slider. Phipps has a crossfire delivery that he knows how to utilize to be deceptive to opposing hitters and create a tough angle coming from an extended three-quarters slot.

Joseph Dixon (2020 RHP, South Jordan, UT)
utilizes a long arm action and a deceptive delivery to produce a low-90s fastball and feel for a low-80s changeup. The Stanford commit has an athletic and projectable frame with a fastball that shows plenty of life out of his hand and breaking ball that has potential.

Mikey Tepper (2020 RHP, Fort Mill, SC) has a loose arm action and is able to produce a fastball up to 94 mph. Tepper is a righthander committed to UNC-Charlotte with a projectable 6-foot-2 frame and three pitches that all show at least solid average.

Ronan Kopp (2020 LHP, Scottsdale, AZ) has an outstandingly projectable frame at 6-foot-5 and produced some of the easiest velocity of Day 1 at PG National. He topped out at 94 mph with his fastball from a loose arm and raw mechanics on the mound. Kopp flashed a curveball with plenty of depth and a slider with slightly tighter spin.

Hunter Haas (2020 SS, Phoenix, AZ) roped a ground-rule double to his pull side in the late innings of the game with powerful swing. He jumped on a mistake pitch up the zone and looked to lift it for pull side power and did so effectively. Haas is committed to Oregon State and has plenty of present pull side juice that showed well in this game.

Jackson Miller (2020 C, Trinity, FL) had a nice approach at the plate with two strikes going the other way on a low breaking ball down and out of the zone for an opposite field single. Miller showed outstanding plate coverage and really nice hand-eye to get the bat head to the baseball.

1-Black vs. 2-Columbia Blue Highlights

6/11/2019

Liam Norris opened the game for the Columbia Blue team and quickly lit up the radar guns with a fastball that topped out at 93 mph. He works to a higher release point and generates plane with occasional cut and mixed in a curveball that showed hammer shape and big depth at times in the upper-70s.

Blaze Jordan recently jumped into the 2020 class and despite being one of the younger players in attendance made his presence felt. He showed off his power in batting practice and proceeded to shoot a double down the opposite field line in his first at-bat to plate a run. The next trip to the plate resulted in another base hit as he took an outer half fastball into the opposite field gap for a line drive single.

Drew Romo continued to put his defensive prowess on display in the opening game by throwing out two runners in the first inning, showing high level arm strength and accuracy with a pair of above average pop times down to second base.

Jared Kelley shows one of the easier arm actions and releases you’ll find in the 2020 class, as well as one of the best fastballs. In his opening inning he topped out at 98 mph with his fastball and comfortably sat in the mid-90s with running life when down in the zone. The Texas commit also showed a tight curveball in the upper-70s with tight bite to it.

Columbia Blue added to their lead with a couple of well struck singles from Mac Guscette and Samuel Infante. Guscette led off the inning with a line drive single on a hanging curveball before Infante got his hands extended and lined a single of his own, this time over the head of the shortstop.

Charez Butcher, a Tennessee commit, showed a low effort delivery on the mound that produced high octane stuff. His first fastball of the game registered at 96 mph on the radar gun and he continued to work in the low- to mid-90s while mixing a curveball up to 80 mph.

Storm Hierholzer was impressive during his two innings on the mound, running his fastball up to 92 mph while living in the 90-92 mph range throughout with sinking life. Along with the fastball he showed comfort throwing both a slider and changeup for strikes with life to both down in the zone.

Nate Savino opened eyes in a big way during his first inning on the mound as he topped out at 96 mph and lived within the 92-95 mph range. His arm action is fast through the back and creates plenty of angle from a lower slot, resulting in heavy sink while also showing command for a slider in the upper-70s.

Victor Mederos continued the theme of hard throwing arms as he sat 91-95 mph with his heater and bumped a 96 during his outing. There’s looseness to his arm action as he gets extended out front and mixed in both a curveball and changeup for strikes.

Nate Wohlgemuth has long been known for his arm strength on the mound and while he was up to 93 mph in this look, he showed a nice feel for an array of secondaries. The very first pitch out of his hand to open the game was a changeup at 84 mph with fading life and mixed a tight, late biting slider at 84 mph as well.

Hunter Barnhart did a nice job of working with heavy downhill plane on his fastball, showing a fast right arm that produced a top fastball velocity of 94 mph with sinking life down. He filled the zone and challenged hitters within the zone while showing a tight spinning curveball with depth up to 80 mph.

Alex Freeland may not have picked up a hit in the box score but he put together a couple of quality at-bats, seeing plenty of pitches in his first at-bats while fouling off tough pitches before barreling a ball hard to center field in his second trip to the plate. His third at-bat was no different as he barreled yet another ball right at the third baseman for another hard out.

Daxton Fulton was outstanding over his two innings of work as the 6-foot-6 lefthander pounded the strike zone throughout while repeating his delivery. He topped out at 93 mph from a higher slot and was able to create solid angle while showing a solid feel for both his curveball, which showed solid depth, and a changeup he flashed with diving life.

Alex Santos countered with two quick innings of his own and ran his fastball up to 93 mph with some sinking life down in the zone. The ultra-projectable righthander and Maryland commit was able to create some sink down in the zone and showed a feel for his curveball, landing it for strikes.

Masyn Winn’s athleticism has long been on display and after making a strong throw across the diamond from shortstop off his back leg the Arkansas commit came through with a line drive single over the shortstop’s head later in the game.

Ian Bahn closed things out in a quick inning of work, sitting in the 88-91 mph range. Currently uncommitted, the Minnesota arm showed a pair of secondary pitches and was able to elicit weak contact off the barrel.

Teams 1-4 Batting Practice Highlights

6/11/2019

Jace Bohrofen (2020 OF, Oklahoma City, OK): Bohrofen showed a very easy, loose stroke with plenty of bat speed and impact off the barrel and excellent present power to the pullside with projection for much more.

Mac Guscette (2020 C, Nokomis, FL): Guscette has an easy, repeatable swing with lots of present bat speed, showing the ability to consistently drive the ball up the gaps with easy jump and carry, projecting for even more power.

Robert Hassell III (2020 OF, Franklin, TN): Hassell's bat speed immediately stands out in a big way, whippy through the zone with lots of impact off the barrel back up the middle and pull side, projecting really well for even more power.

Albert Hernandez (2020 OF, Davie, FL): Hernandez has plenty of strength packed onto his frame, and when combined with his impactful bat speed, creates impressive hitting tools with the ability to drive the ball all over the field with authority.

Samuel Infante (2020 SS, Hialeah, FL): Infante's hands and bat speed are both plus at present, and he does a fantastic job of getting the barrel out front and driving it on a rising line to all fields.

Cade Horton (2020 SS, Norman, OK): Horton showed fast hands with whippy barrel in his round, showing the ability to really drive the ball to center field when on time.

Cayden Wallace (2020 3B, Greenbrier, AR): Wallace has an excellent combination of strength and bat speed, and the ball really does come off his bat differently. He drives the ball extremely hard with lots of carry and jump.

Roberto Moya (2020 OF, Miami, FL): Moya showed off some of the best power of the event, consistently getting the head out and driving the ball authoritatively pull side, hitting several balls way out to the pull field at Chase.

Blaze Jordan (2020 1B, Southaven, MS): A recent reclassifier to the 2020 class, Jordan put his huge power on display in BP, with loud shots pull side with majestic carry and tons of strength. He's one of the top talents in the class.

Drew Romo (2020 C, The Woodlands, TX): Romo is lauded as the top defensive catcher in the class, but he also shows lots to like offensively from both sides of the plate, with plenty of bat speed and strength that create quality power.

Luke Pectol (2020 1B, Little Rock, AR): Pectol has lots of projection remaining on his frame and his power projection is substantial with whippy bat speed and natural loft to the stroke.

Daxton Fulton (2020 LHP, Oklahoma City, OK): Fulton's physical projection stands out and he's a tremendous talent on the bump, while also showing whippy bat speed when hitting with consistently well-struck liners to the gaps off the bat.

TJ McCants (2020 SS, Cantonment, FL): McCants has always shown advanced hitting tools, and as he's gotten stronger he's driving the ball more. He showed those same loose wrists and whippy barrel in BP here, driving the ball on a line.

Kellum Clark (2020 1B, Brandon, MS): Clark's physicality and strength have always stood out, and this round was no exception, as he consistently got the barrel out front and drove the ball on a line back through the middle and up both gaps.

Austin Hendrick (2020 OF, Oakdale, PA): One of the best players in the class, Hendrick's bat speed is at the top of the scale and he showed tremendous power here, driving several way out to the pull side with loud jump and carry.

Robert Moore (2020 SS, Leawood, KS): Moore's defensive abilities are at the top of the class, and he's made strides with his strength offensively, and showed quality bat speed and hands from both sides with more raw power than he'd had previously, working up both gaps with jump.

Kemp Alderman (2020 C, Decatur, MS): Alderman has some of the best pure strength of those in attendance, and he drove the ball on a line with tremendous carry, driving some balls out of the park with low trajectory, speaking to that strength.

Jack Bulger (2020 C, Bowie, MD): Bulger has an excellent combination of strength and bat speed, and he did an excellent job of getting the barrel out front and driving the ball on a well-struck line to all parts of the ballpark.

Ethan Long (2020 3B, Gilbert, AZ): Long's strength stands out, and he's got impactful bat speed as well, showing tremendous jump off the barrel to the pull side with plenty of natural loft as well.

Jordan Walker (2020 3B, Stone Mountain, GA): Walker has sky-high two-way upside, and he's got tremendous bat speed and strength at the plate, driving the ball on a line up both gaps and to dead center with easy carry.

Ed Howard (2020 SS, Lynwood, IL): Howard's projection and bat speed both stand out loudly, as he whips the barrel around and loudly impacts the baseball on a line. The power projection is off the charts as he gains strength.

Mario Zabala (2020 OF, San Juan, PR): Zabala's swing is extremely fluid with fast hands and a whippy barrel through the zone. He drove the ball extremely hard to the pull side consistently and projects for even more raw power.

Drew Bowser (2020 SS, Encino, CA): Bowser has excellent raw power at present with projection for more, as he consistently drove the ball on a hard, rising line to the gaps that projects for even more at physical maturity.

AJ Vukovich (2020 3B, Mukwonago, WI): Vukovich has tremendous strength and bat speed with even more projection for power than he already has, giving him supreme offensive upside for both hit and power.

Pete Crow-Armstrong (2020 OF, Sherman Oaks, CA): Crow-Armstrong has exemplary hands at the plate that allow him to move the barrel around better than most, and when combined with his bat speed he's able to drive the ball on a line to all fields while also projecting really well for power.

Lucas Gordon (2020 LHP, Los Angeles, CA): Gordon has advanced hitting tools from the left side with compact hands and quality bat speed, and he did a nice job of consistently finding the barrel on a firm line, showing some pop pull side as well.

Michael Brown (2020 1B, Vacaville, CA): Brown's raw power stands out in a big way as some of the best in class from the left side, and he showed the ability to drive the ball 400+ feet out of the park to right center field.

Tyler Soderstrom (2020 C, Turlock, CA): Soderstrom showed a consistently balanced swing from the left side with good bat speed and impact off the barrel, driving the ball to all fields and projecting really well for power.

Joe Vetrano (2020 LHP, Shrub Oak, NY): Primarily a lefthanded pitcher, Vetrano showed intriguing bat speed from the left side here, squaring the ball up consistently including a screaming liner that ended up 7-8 rows deep in the RF seats.

John (TJ) Curd (2020 1B, Port Saint Lucie, FL): Curd showed a strong, compact stroke from the left side that produced plenty of well-struck liners pull side, driving the ball well and showing impact power.

Alek Boychuk (2020 C, Buford, GA): Boychuck's bat speed from the right side stands out immediately, and he showed a repeatable swing that consistently drove the ball hard to the pull side with lots of jump.

Coby Mayo (2020 3B, Coral Springs, FL): Mayo consistently drives his lower half well with outstanding torso speed and bat speed, driving the ball extremely hard to all fields with excellent present power and projection for absurd power at peak.

Yohandy Morales (2020 SS, Miami, FL): Morales' raw power and power projection are each near the top of the class, as he consistently gets the head out and drives the ball with impressive jump and carry pull side, projecting extremely well for even more power long term.

Kyle Karros (2020 3B, Manhattan Beach, CA): Karros showed off quality bat speed and pull side juice, doing a nice job of getting his hands out and barreling the ball with consistently.
