At 6-foot-4, 225 pounds Hill was one of the most physically imposing players at the showcase. The righthanded hitter showed good feel for the barrel and tremendous raw strength in batting practice, and his pop translate well to game action where he smashed a homerun to left field.

Hunter Judd  OF - 2016 - Knoxville, TN
Lincoln Memorial

Judd showed that he could do a little bit of everything this past weekend. The long, lean and athletic primary outfielder runs well and has a strong arm in the outfield. His arm strength plays well on the mound, where he works in the low-80s and shows an ability to throw quality strikes.

Ryan Layne  SS - 2016 - Nicholasville, KY

The uncommitted Layne is just an all-around solid baseball player. The primary shortstop is a good athlete and was clocked at 6.60 seconds in the 60-yard dash. In the infield Layne has good actions, a quick release, and solid arm strength, registering as high as 90 mph on throws across the diamond in defensive drills.

Langston Watkins  OF - 2016 - Louisville, KY

Watkins turned a lot of heads in the workouts when he ran the 60-yard dash in an incredible 6.29 seconds. After he was asked to run again, he proved that both the lasers and stopwatches were not malfunctioning as the outfielder turned in a similarly blazing 6.33 second time. Obviously full of quick twitch athleticism, Watkins also shows impressive defensive chops in center field and developing feel for the barrel at the plate.

Luke Lalumia  OF - 2016 - Eagle, MI
Uncommitted

A teammate of the aforementioned Langston Watkins for the Steel team, Lalumia also had coaches buzzing after the broad-shouldered outfielder ran a 6.43 60-yard dash. The right-handed hitting outfielder also turned in a blazing 3.74 home-to-first time on a bunt attempt and showed some feel for the barrel in game action. His future home may be on the mound however, as his fastball reached as high as 87 mph.

Matthew Rule  SS - 2016 - Kearney, MO
Uncommitted

Rule also had one of the more impressive batting practice displays of the event. The middle infielder has an aggressive approach and quality bat speed, and he also shows the ability to get extended and backspin the baseball in game action.

Brandon Hauswald  SS - 2016 - Jackson, TN
Trevecca Nazarene University

Hauswald fits the prototypical gamer mold. The 5-foot-9, 170 pound switch-hitting middle infielder is a solid overall athlete but his feel for the game, grit, and approach help his tools to play up in game action. With a compact, efficient path to the ball from both sides of the ball, Hauswald figures to be a quality hitter at the next level.

Logan McCall  RHP - 2016 - St. Charles, MO
Harding

The 6-foot-2, 203 pound righty has a nice, solid pitcher’s frame with a nice arm-action and solid delivery. With solid command of a fastball up to 84 mph and some developing feel for his upper-60s curveball and mid-70s changeup, McCall was one of the more polished pitchers at the event.

Faulkner is a fun player to watch as he plays with an energy and passion that is noticeable immediately. Perhaps the most consistent batting practice round of the showcase belonged to Keegan Snowbarger. The 5-foot-11, 205 righthanded hitter showed good balance from his wide base and displayed solid hand quickness, bat speed, and barrel utility in working the entire field and peppering the outfield gaps with solid line drives.

2017 Top Prospects

Austin Shepherd  RHP - 2017 - Lexington, KY
Eastern Kentucky

Shepherd is a solid overall athlete that has two-way potential, but with a fastball that already touches 85 and consistently plays in the low-80s, his future may lie on the mound. Aside from the solid velocity, Shepherd showed the ability to command his fastball well and also mix in a curveball, slider, and changeup.

Jack Phillips  RHP - 2017 - Fishers, IN
Northern Illinois

Another talented arm in the class of 2017, Phillips ran his fastball up to 83 mph this past weekend. With a projectable 6-foot-4, 185 pound frame it is easy to see more velocity coming in the next few years and he also showed solid feel for his low-70s curveball and mid-70s changeup.

He ran a 6.88 60-yard dash and displayed solid arm strength in defensive drills, firing in throws to bases that registered as high as 84 mph. The lefty also showed off some feel for pitching, repeating his delivery and commanding his upper-70s fastball well to go along with a quality curveball.

Luke Price  1B - 2017 - Louisville, KY
Murray State/Heartland CC

Price is a strong, physical young man and his strength shows up at the plate. The 6-foot-3, 205 pound lefthanded hitter generates natural loft in his swing and he flashes the ability to impact the baseball with authority, particularly to the pullside.

Kyle Bruch  OF - 2017 - West Chester, OH

His arm strength transfers well to the mound, where the primary pitcher ran his fastball up to 84 mph and consistently sat in the low-80s. Bube also showcased solid feel for a slider and changeup.

2018 Top Prospects

Casey Maniglia  RHP - 2018 - Solon, OH
North Carolina

Maniglia is a good athlete and he has a looseness and ease to his actions that is rather rare for a player of his age group and school class. The 6-foot-1, 185 pound righty ran his fastball up to 88 mph and sat consistently in the 83-86 mph range, and he also displayed developing feel for his breaking ball and a changeup, which should serve him well in his future development.

Tate Meade  RHP - 2018 - Williamsport, KY
Kentucky Wesleyan

Meade has an aggressive demeanor and approach on the mound. The 5-foot-11, 180 pound righty did a good job of attacking the strike zone early and often with his a low-80s fastball and a curveball that flashes good depth and late break. With some deception in his delivery and some wiggle on his fastball, there are plenty of tools for Meade to work with in the coming years.

James Dupree  RHP - 2018 - Lexington, KY
Uncommitted

Dupree is has a sturdy, strong 6-foot-3, 190 pound frame. As he continues to mature and gain invaluable experience he should continue to add velocity and sharpen his already impressive arsenal, which consists of a fastball up to 83 mph and a 72 mph curveball.
