Evans has a professional body and professional strength, really looking the part of an elite baseball player. He ran extremely well (6.68 60), was very impressive defensively in his outfield actions, and has legitimate thunder in his bat, highlighted by extreme bat speed and lots of natural lift. Signed with Missouri.

Drew Millas  C - 2016 - Swansea, IL
Missouri State

One of the more toolsy athletes at the event, Millas has high-level catching tools with excellent athleticism, quickness, and arm strength (1.83 pop time), and could easily project as a high-level infielder as well (threw 90 MPH from IF). Ran a 6.89 second 60 yard dash, and showed very projectable hitting tools from both sides of the plate with excellent bat speed and power potential.

Austin Galindo  RHP - 2016 - Bloomington, IL
Illinois State

Galindo, a physically-imposing college football defensive end signee, was extremely impressive throughout the event. Threw 91 MPH from the OF, 87 MPH from 1B, showed extreme strength off the barrel when hitting, and worked 85-88 MPH on the mound with very good command and a very sharp, swing-and-miss slider.

Luke Lowry  OF - 2016 - Omaha, NE
Iowa Western CC

Lowry is very, very strong throughout his body and that strength is put on display quite often when he's hitting. With a simple approach and overall mechanics, he turns the barrel quickly and with authority on plane, resulting in big time power off the bat with legitimate home run capabilities. Some of the loudest contact of the event belonged to him.

Austin Powell  C - 2016 - Star City, AR
Arkansas State

Powell was solid in every facet of the game. Showed quality arm speed on the mound up to 84 MPH with his lively fastball; athletic actions behind the plate with a strong arm and quick release popping 1.88 seconds; and very good hitting tools with a consistent, hard line-drive swing and good bat speed.

Joe Wallace  C - 2016 - Glen Carbon, IL
Lincoln Trail College

Wallace showed quality hitting tools from both sides of the plate, with a good approach and excellent feel for the barrel regardless of which side he was swinging from. Generates good bat speed with strength off the barrel, consistent line drives to all fields. Also caught well, popping a 1.95 and throwing 79 MPH.

2017 Top Prospects

Jackson Rutledge  RHP - 2017 - St. Louis, MO
Kentucky/San Jacinto CC

One of the best performances of the event, the mammoth Rutledge was imposing both physically and with his stuff. With an explosive fastball that sat in the high 80's and hit 90 a few times, a sharp downer curveball and highly deceptive changeup, he has the arsenal, size, and stuff to be an impact performer at the next level.

Mark Vierling  SS - 2017 - St. Louis, MO
Missouri

Vierling was one of the most impressive defensive prospects of the event, with extremely graceful, easy infield actions, coupled with clean glove work and excellent arm strength up to 89 MPH across the infield. Paired those actions with a 6.81 60 yard dash time and a power approach when hitting with good bat speed and lots of loft in his swing.

Cordell Dunn  C - 2017 - Olive Branch, MS
Grayson County College

Dunn, a Texas Tech commitment, was very impressive both behind the plate and at it. Receives extremely well and has very good flexibility behind the plate, shows strong arm with quick release to get pop time all the way down to 1.94 seconds. Strong with the bat too, hit hard liners consistently with the ability to drive the ball deep into the gaps as well.

Michael Hojnacki  RHP - 2017 - Saint Louis, MO
Bradley

Hojnacki hides the ball extremely well on the mound, tilting his spine back and getting up to near overtop slot before exploding forward and reaching 90 MPH with his fastball, making it look even firmer than that. The ball explodes out of his hand and he loves to pitch inside, making him a very uncomfortable at bat for anyone stepping in against him.

Paxton Wallace  3B - 2017 - Greenbrier, AR
Wichita State

Wallace showed off two extremely impressive tools during this event in his arm strength and his power when hitting. He's a quality fundamental infielder, profiling well at 3rd base, with a cannon for an arm, up to 92 MPH across. Also showed off extreme power potential when hitting, with loud, lofted contact consistently off his barrel.

Gregory Bennett  MIF - 2017 - Peosta, IA
Middle Tennessee State/Iowa Western CC

Bennett was one of the more impressive overall athletes of the event, running a 6.76 60 yard dash time, throwing 87 MPH from the OF and 85 MPH across the infield, showing off excellent defensive actions in both spots, and one of the most consistently loud hitting performances, squaring up rockets all over the complex.

Dalton Doyle  RHP - 2017 - Olathe, KS
Uncommitted

With very good arm speed and a tough-to-pick-up near overtop slot, Doyle fastball seemed a lot quicker to hitters than the still-impressive mid-upper 80's he was bringing it at (topped at 88 MPH). Also showed advanced feel for spinning a curveball, with excellent downward break and overall shape.

Logan Easley  MIF - 2017 - Rogers, AR
Wichita State

Easley was very good both on the mound and in the infield. Working very easily on the mound with a clean arm action and easy release, his fastball topped at 86 MPH with projection for more, showed a sharp curveball with great depth, and a very impressive changeup with fade. Threw strikes with all 3. Was very good defensively as well, moving easily side to side and throwing 84 MPH across.

Weston Baker  RHP - 2017 - Eureka, MO
Lindenwood University

Baker has a large frame with lots of strength and projection remaining, definitely looks the part of a pitcher. Showed four pitches with solid command of entire arsenal, fastball worked 83-87 MPH with good arm side life, really sells his changeup with fastball arm speed, and mixed in a power-breaking curveball and sharp, shorter slider.

Mason Mitchell  OF - 2017 - Ellisville, MO
Uncommitted

Mitchell was one of the best hitters of the entire event, both in terms of pure hitting and power tools. He's very loose and easy through his swing, with excellent bat speed and the intent to drive the baseball deep to all parts of the park. Combined with his raw strength, his swing produced some of the loudest contact of the weekend.

John Swanda  RHP - 2017 - Des Moines, IA
Nebraska

Extremely impressive in several facets, Swanda had a very good day. Up to 86 MPH on the mound with the ability to get heavy life on the pitch; showed outstanding defensive tools with quickness and advanced glove work in addition to an excellent arm (87 MPH across IF); also has very good bat speed at the plate with an advanced approach and ability to spray the ball.

Matt Perego  RHP - 2017 - Ballwin, MO
Western Kentucky/John A. Logan College

At 6'7" 250, Perego is very imposing before he even steps on the mound, then he starts pitching and the presence is felt even more. Working 83-86 MPH with his fastball with extreme downhill plane, he's not afraid to challenge hitters inside and did a great job of attacking them consistently. Also showed a quality slider with nice tilt.

Drew Bartholow  OF - 2017 - Winnetka, IL
Emory

Bartholow showed excellent speed with a 6.62 60 yard dash time, and that speed translated into his outfield actions, where he was very quick to the ball, worked through it, and delivered online, strong throws with accuracy. Also did a very good job attacking the ball when hitting, driving it into the air with authority.

Blake Beagle  OF - 2017 - Pleasant Hill, MO
Uncommitted

Beagle showed well with all of his tools during the event, running a 6.92 60 yard dash time and using that speed to move quickly and efficiently to the ball in the outfield. Advanced arm strength with throws up to 85 MPH. Very good hitting tools as well, with consistent barrel control, hitting rising line drives all over the field.

Christopher Brown  RHP - 2017 - Skokie, IL
State Fair

One of the strongest players at the event, Brown's strength extends into both his arm and his bat. Drove the ball consistently into the air when hitting and showed off definite home run power; also was up to 85 MPH on the mound with good life on his fastball to go along with the makings of a swing-and-miss slider.

Zachery Dodson  SS - 2017 - Huntingdon, TN
Uncommitted

Dodson takes the title for funkiest/most deceptive pitching mechanics, but it's a true testament to his athleticism that he was able to repeat his delivery consistency, given the level of moving parts in it. He worked up to 83 with good command down in the zone and a developing slider. He was also very impressive defensively, both in the infield and the outfield.

Adam Link  RHP - 2017 - Springfield, MO
Jefferson College

Link was pretty deceptive in his delivery on the mound, pairing that deception with good arm speed and a fastball that reached 84 MPH with late cutting action. Also has developed a quality slider with late tilt, and a good changeup as well. Pounded the zone with all pitches and really came right after hitters.

Nick Logusch  RHP - 2017 - St. Louis, MO
East Carolina/Jefferson CC

Lugusch showed a very easy, good-paced delivery when on the mound, with a clean arm up to a high 3/4 slot, driving downhill with a fastball in the low-mid 80's, topping at 86 MPH with good natural heaviness. Also showed advanced feel for his changeup with late, diving action; and mixed in a curveball with 12/6 shape.

Matthew Merrill  RHP - 2017 - Tulsa, OK
Pittsburg State

From a strong and near-ideal build for a pitcher, Merrill dominated hitters with a heavy sinking fastball up to 85 MPH, thrown with very good plane to the plate. Also mixed in a curveball that was very sharp when he got on top of it, and showed good feel for a developing changeup.

Ryan Panzitta  SS - 2017 - Chesterfield, MO
Uncommitted

Panzitta took a very loud round of batting practice, consistently drilling rising line drives all over the field and sending some of the shaggers diving out of the way. He turns the barrel well and brings his lower half, truly hitting with all of his strength, something not enough hitters do. Also threw 84 MPH across the infield with quick, easy actions.

Douglas Payne  2B - 2017 - Cuba, MO
Uncommitted

Payne was very impressive with the bat, as well as on the mound on Sunday. With a very simple, contact-driven swing; Payne drove line drives all over the field with developing strength, giving him one of the better pure bat-to-ball showings of the event. Also has highly advanced arm speed on the mound, reaching 83 MPH with lots more in the tank, and the ability to spin a very sharp slider at times.

Bryce Simon  OF - 2017 - Cascade, IA
Morehead State/Southeastern CC

Simon has a highly projectable body to go along with very good athleticism. Ran a 6.76 60 yard dash and moved extremely well in outfield drills, also showing off a solid arm. Very clean and simple contact approach when hitting, executed line drive swing plane consistently and will hit for high average.

Bryan Truitt  RHP - 2017 - Caledonia, IL
Iowa Western CC

Truitt had one of the more polished pitching performances of the weekend, repeating his delivery well and throwing four quality pitches with good effectiveness and command. Fastball worked 81-84 MPH with sink, and showed good feel for each of his curveball, slider, and changeup with the ability to throw all of them for strikes at any time.

2018 Top Prospects

Gary Volz  RHP - 2018 - Alton, IL
John A. Logan College

With a highly projectable, athletic frame; and the kind of arm speed not often seen from underclassmen prospects, it's very easy to project Volz to throw harder than he already does. Peaking at 88 MPH with his fastball, he was able to dominate opposing hitters when in the strike zone, and mixed in a developing slider and changeup.

Brett Hammit  SS - 2018 - Nixa, MO
Nebraska

With a highly athletic, highly projectable frame combined with quality present tools, Hammit has a pretty high upside. Ran a 7.02 60 yard dash, threw 86 MPH across the infield with smooth defensive actions, and showed quality bat speed when hitting with good barrel control and the ability to use all fields.

Caden Monke  LHP - 2018 - Mt. Olive, IL
Arkansas

Monke still really projects physically, with lots of room to add weight and overall strength, but the arm works very well from the mound at present and with good results. Worked in the low 80's up to 84 from a tough slot with advanced arm speed, and showed the ability to throw a sharp slider with some consistency. Also ran a 6.93 seconds 60 yard dash.

Luke Mann  RHP - 2018 - St. Louis, MO
Missouri

In addition to his raw stuff, Mann has quality deception on the mound, which makes him even harder to hit. Worked 79-83 MPH with his fastball, getting some cutting action on the pitch, and absolutely pounded the zone. Showed good feel for two distinct breaking balls in a curveball and a slider, both with swing-and-miss potential moving forward.

2019 Top Prospects

Will Duff  SS - 2019 - Springfield, MO
Vanderbilt

Duff was among the most impressive prospects of the event, and is only beginning his freshman season. Took a great round of batting practice with advanced hand/bat speed, very athletic defensively both in the infield and the outfield with clean actions and excellent arm strength (88 MPH from the OF, 84 across the IF). Pitched as well, reaching 85 MPH with highly advanced changeup feel.

2020 Top Prospects

Cayden Wallace  3B - 2020 - Greenbrier, AR
Arkansas

One of two middle-schoolers in this event, Wallace was impressive given his age in every facet of the game. He showed very good arm strength for his age, both in the field and on the mound. Reached 80 MPH on the mound with the beginnings of command, with a simple, easy delivery and arm action. Has jump off the barrel when hitting with a clean stroke and simple path.

Free Agents Top Prospects

Roibert Pineda  OF - Free Agents - Barcelona, CT SPA

With a pro body and high level strength/athleticism combination, Pineda stood out before even grabbing a bat or throwing a baseball. Has excellent bat speed with big power in his swing; also moves fluidly in the outfield and shows off very good arm strength with velocity up to 91 MPH. Ran a 6.78 60 yard dash as well.
