2017 Top Prospects

David Vazquez  SS - 2017 - Coral Springs, FL
North Carolina State

Vazquez stood out on both sides of the ball and may have as much promise on the mound as he does at shortstop. He looks bigger and stronger than his listed 6-1/171 but is athletic and smooth at shortstop with big arm strength. Vazquez was 87-89 mph on the mound with good life and an easy and athletic delivery.

William Jeffry  OF - 2017 - Caguas, PR

Jeffry is a very toolsy Puerto Rican outfielder who is going to keep improving as he fills out his 6-0/157 frame, He ran a 6.53 sixty while showing huge range in centerfield and also has very good bat speed with some lift in his swing.

Bradford Jones  RHP - 2017 - Osprey, FL
Missouri

Jones had one of the strongest arms at the event, sitting easily in the 88-90 mph range from simple delivery mechanics and a high 3/4's arm slot. He shows potential with a hard curveball that reached 78 mph and had sharp break at times and also throws a low 80's change up.

Earl Semper  3B - 2017 - Fort Lauderdale, FL
North Carolina

It's rare to find a young switch-hitter who is equally strong and talented from both sides but Semper looks like he qualifies. He's a very projectable athlete who runs a 6.9, has a strong arm and can play both third base and the outfield with next level tools.

Justin Connell  SS - 2017 - Pembroke Pines, FL
Florida International

Connell has a potentially explosive combination of speed and strength to build on. He ran the sixty in a blazing 6.5 and was one of the best hitters in the games, showing very good raw bat speed and strength at contact from a very aggressive swing approach.

Jordan Schulefand  MIF - 2017 - Parkland, FL
Richmond

Schulefand is a slender, tightly wound athlete with lots of tools. He has big arm strength and registered 92 mph from the outfield and 90 mph from the infield along with throwing mid-80's from the mound with a very good curveball. He also has a crisp and short swing that should enable him to hit for a high average at the next level.

Rashad Collymore  OF - 2017 - Mississauga, ON CAN
Indian River State College

Collymore is a very quick twitch athlete whose 6.5 speed is especially impactful in the bases, where he gets outstanding jumps and has instant acceleration. He also shows raw bat speed from both sides of the plate, with a more polished swing right handed.

Malik Lissone Brown  RHP - 2017 - Lake Worth, FL
La Salle

Brown pitched consistently in the upper 80's and looks like he has more velocity in his arm. How much the 6-2/190 right hander improves his secondary stuff will determine his ceiling.

Tyler Esplin  OF - 2017 - Lake Bluff, IL
University of North Carolina-Charlotte

Esplin is a big and strong 6-3/210 athlete who stands out physically on the field. He has big arm strength, throwing 91 from the outfield and 88 mph from the mound with a good hard curveball and may have a bright future on the mound. He has the raw strength and bat speed to keep developing with the bat and projects big power with adjustments.

Luke Drummond  RHP - 2017 - Temple Terrace, FL
Birmingham-Southern College

Drummond has a long and lanky 6-4/195 build and a fastball that reaches 88 mph from a deceptive delivery that adds to his raw velocity. He also threw a very nice curveball that had big depth in the low 70's with some sharpness to its bite.

Bryan Wilcox  LHP - 2017 - Davie, FL
Florida Gulf Coast

Wilcox is a polished left hander with a nice repeatable delivery and solid present stuff. He worked his fastball consistently in the mid 80's and showed the ability to spot the ball to both sides of the plate. His curveball was his best pitch, with good depth and sharpness.

Sean Gourley  C - 2017 - Ocala, FL
Andrew College

Gourley showed sound defensive tools and skills behind the plate on defense, with a strong 6-1/195 catcher's build, good quickness in his actions and lots of arm strength. He's a right handed hitter who shows his strength at the plate as well.

Owen Jansen  SS - 2017 - Oakville, ON CAN
Purdue

Jansen is a polished middle infielder with the tools and skills to stay at shortstop at the next level. He's a 6.9 runner who showed range at shortstop and is a high average right handed hitter with a polished line drive swing.

Matt Morgan  OF - 2017 - Windermere, FL
Manhattan

Morgan is an athletic outfielder with 6.7 speed and a strong throwing arm. He hits from the right side and has a short and quick swing with some strength behind it and looks like a high average/lead off type of hitter in the future.

Michael Farinelli  SS - 2017 - New York, NY
Middlebury College

Farinelli is a two-way prospect as a shortstop/right handed pitcher. He's a 6.9 runner who has a big arm at shortstop that also plays well on the mound with a mid-80's fastball and good secondary pitches.

Justin Wager  SS - 2017 - Orange Park, FL
Lander

Wager has next level tools defensively at shortstop, where he is very light on his feet with plenty of athletic balance working through the ball and a quick release with plenty of arm strength. He has a nice swing from the right side with sound mechanics and will keep improving as a hitter as he gets stronger.

Ivan Prejean  3B - 2017 - Sorrento, LA
Nicholls State

Prejean showed a nice combination of tools on both sides of the ball. he ran a 6.7 in the sixty and looks like he can play some middle infield in addition to third base. He's a right handed hitter with a loose swing and some gap pop from an aggressive swing approach.

Myles McKisic  SS - 2017 - Delray Beach, FL
Pensacola State

McKisic, who is signed with Polk State College, has a big strong athletic build and tools across the board. He runs a 6.7 and has plenty of arm strength to play all over the field and was even up to 87 mph on the mound. He's a right handed hitter with good strength and power that he can still tap into.


2018 Top Prospects

Chris Mondesi  3B - 2018 - Brooklyn, NY
Connors State College

The nephew of former Big Leaguer Raul Mondesi, Chris is very much a prospect in his own right as he shows a long and fluid righthanded stroke with plenty of bat speed and strength at the point of contact. He also showed soft hands defensively and threw 88 mph from across the diamond.

Caleb Roberts  C - 2018 - Coral Springs, FL
North Carolina

Roberts showed outstanding fundamentals and mechanics both behind the plate on defense and on offense as a left handed hitter. Once he starts filling out his 6-0/170 frame and getting stronger he's going to be a good one.

Shane Marshall  C - 2018 - Naples, FL
Georgia

Marshall is very big for a young catcher at 6-3/180 but he is loose and athletic behind the plate with outstanding raw arm strength. He has a loose right handed swing at the plate and makes solid middle of the field contact.

Diego Ramos  SS - 2018 - Delray Beach, FL
Indian River State College

Ramos has an outstanding athletic build and looks bigger than his listed 6-2/180 but still really projects. He's a high level athlete who runs a 6.8 and has a big and easy arm in the infield that also touched 85 mph from the mound. He has lots of raw power at the plate.

Brant Brown  RHP - 2018 - Venice, FL
Eckerd College/Georgia Highlands

Brown has a very athletic 6-3/180 build that is full of projection and room for added strength. His best tool is his right handed bat and he has a loose swing with sound hitting mechanics and lots of present bat speed. He was also up to 84 mph on the mound.

Nicholas Perez-Battistini  SS - 2018 - Miami, FL
Uncommitted

Nicholas is a different type of athlete than his brother Daniel, with a 5-11/175 build but plenty of present strength as well. He looked just as talented in the infield as he did in the outfield and has big arm strength at both positions. Offensively, he has present bat speed from a solid hitting approach.

Daniel Perez-Battistini  1B - 2018 - Miami, FL
Florida International

Perez-Battistini is very strong for a sophomore and uses his strength well at the plate. He has very good present bat speed and an aggressive power approach that is going to work for him as he moves up. He also showed some promise on the mound with an 84 mph fastball that had good sink.

Yordy Cabrera  RHP - 2018 - Miami, FL
Palm Beach State

Cabrera is a strong armed young sophomore with a nice athletic 6-1/180 build for his age and a quick arm that produced a fastball up to 87 mph to go with a tight spinning 73 mph curveball.

Kristopher Soto  3B - 2018 - Miami, FL
Pittsburgh

Soto is a very interesting young right handed hitter with present strength at 5-11/195 and lots of present bat speed. He has a loose, tension free swing with lots of extension out front and a hitter's natural sense of timing and barrel control.


2019 Top Prospects

Dylan Rogers  OF - 2019 - Spartanburg, SC
Appalachian State/Chattahoochee Valley CC

Rogers has a strong and athletic 6-0/175 build for a freshman and already has a very advanced bat. He squared up the ball almost every swing during BP and in games and drove the ball hard consistently to the middle of the field. He'll have the speed and athleticism to play the outfield but also really stood out defensively at first base.
