Colton Farrar is a 2008 RHP with a 6'3'', 175 lb. frame from Royce City, TX who attends First Baptist Academy of Dallas. Colton has a lean and has a very athletic build. At the plate he has good bat speed and is an aggressive hitter early in the count. He has the ability to take the ball the other way, and makes good solid contact through the middle of the field. He does a nice job centering up his barrel, and his bat stays in the zone a long time. He looks most impressive on the mound, where he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with quick arm action, and good arm speed. He is a medium effort guy with an online delivery. His top fastball came in at 86 mph on the gun, and he has tools to throw harder. He works ahead in counts and attacks hitters with his fastball. He also has good mechanics, and has a solid online delivery. He also features a sharp breaking 12-6 curveball that he throws for strikes. He understands how to pitch, and changes speeds effectively.
