Nikolas Torres is a 2008 1B/3B with a 6', 175 lb frame from Victoria, Texas, who attends Victoria Memorial High School. Nikolas has an athletic build with a strong lower half. At the plate Nikolas has a solid swing with good bat speed and leverage. He flashes good pull pop but need to work on keeping his weight back as he gets rotational in his swing. Nikolas has a tendency to take his eye off the ball some, taking away from his ability to drive the ball consistently. In the field Nikolas has good body control and soft hands at first base. His arm is very limited at this point and first base is the only position for him right now. Nikolas is a very strong student that could attract the attention of some smaller colleges.
