Reichard is a big strong RHP with a very good arm. He warmed up around 89 in Ft Myers, but pitched 86-88. We're sure he can and has thrown 90 or better in the past. He has good arm speed for a big leverage type guy. His breaking ball showed pretty good spin in the low 70s. He also showed some feel for a 80 mph changeup. All in all a pretty impressive January showing for a pitcher from the north. Reichard doesn't have that ultra smooth delivery, but he does possess some plus arm strength and pitchability. Our guess is, on a good day he is fairly unhittable. With a delivery that would enable him to repeat easily he might be extra special. With his size and arm, he should create some serious draft interest this Spring. If all three pitches are better than what we saw in Ft Myers, he could be a real good pick.
