Rhynes is a big strong catcher from Prince Edward Island. He has some serious athletic baseball ability. He probably hasn't played nearly as much as many other top prospects and that's what makes him a serious prospect. He has a strong quick arm and shows some cat like quickness behind the plate. He even runs pretty good. His bat ranks with some of the best in potential. He is going to hit. He's pretty much a pull hitter with big bat spped and a controlled aggressive stroke. The natural strength of his body is utilized very well in his powerful swing. The ball gets off the wood in a big hurry. He is going to hit the long ball, but he has a natural ability for getting the barrel to the ball. He could struggle early on in pro ball, but the rewards could be big. You can only wonder how good he might become playing the best competition every day.

Got better over the weekend. Can hit and throw, moves well behind the plate.! Athletic and strong! He could develop into a nice pro receiver.
