Drew Martineau is a 2008 RHP/IF/1B/3B with a 6'2'', 205 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX, who attends Reagan HS. Martineau has a very nice frame with present strength. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short arm circle on the back side. He has good arm speed and throws with minimal effort. Martineau stays online and balanced through his delivery, and throws with a good downhill angle to the plate. He gets arm side life on his fastball that topped out at 80 mph, and he mixes in an 11/5 curveball at 63 mph and a 71 mph changeup. Martineau allowed only 1 hit during his 3 innings of work while striking out 4. At the plate he hits from an open stance with a high hand set. He loads his hands and closes off his stance well at contact. Martineau has a good eye at the plate tracking pitches well, and uses a line drive swing with solid bat speed. Martineau has good projection to his game, and is a good student as well.
