Bouvine is a projectable 6 foot 2 pitcher with athleticism and long muscles. He has plenty of room to fill out and add more weight under his frame. He is a ground ball type pitcher. He throws a fastball, slider and change-up. He flashed a cut fastball but relied mainly on his heavy 4 seamer to set up his off-speed pitches. That fastball showed consistent 83-84 mph velocity and jumped up between 85 and 87 mph on a couple pitches when he needed it. His natural arm slot was a low 3/4 to sidearm that varied throughout his workout. He even showed an occasional low angle and it worked well as he varied speeds and angles continuously keeping batters guessing. His slider showed a curveball release and spin on a horizontal plane in the 74-77 mph range with good location. His change-up was his best pitch showing 76-79 mph velocity, good location and plus sink. He used the change-up progressively more and it appeared to sink and run more each time he threw it. Combine the heavy fastball with that plus change-up and a good 77mph slider and you have a deep pitch selection that will get outs and win games. He should be drawing interest as one of the top unsigned seniors in the Midwest and we would not be surprised to see him contribute to a competitive division 1 program next year.
