Eric Sanchez is a 2008 right hand hitting middle infielder from Santiago HS, residing in Corona, CA. He has a 5'11" 155 lb. frame and a wiry, lithe, average athletic body type. Sanchez has a chance to hit in the college game. He displayed good balance throughout his swing and he has an aggressive nature. His hands work quite well and he showed that he has enough bat speed to hit at the college level. He consistently stayed inside the ball and sprayed line drives to all fields. His approach is pretty simple and should allow him to be a hitter who hits for fairly consistent average. Some gap power could develop as he continues to physically develop. In the field Sanchez is also has solid ability. He has quiet and efficient movements. His hands and feet are good as well. Sanchez's arm strength is suited best to second base, which is fine because he showed that he understands the proper angles to take to the ball at that position. He was particularly good going up the middle to his backhand side when at second base. Not a flashy or toolsy player, Sanchez simply is well-rounded and is a good follow for many D1 programs.

Eric Sanchez is a 5'10" 145 pound 2008 middle infielder from Corona, California who attends Corona Santiago High School. He has a lean broad frame with room to add more muscle to. Eric has good actions and the athletic ability to play anywhere on the field. He is quick and agile with good hands and footwork. He makes accurate throws and handles the double play very well. Sanchez hits with his hands held high and uses a wide base. He has a compact swing with good bat speed and is a spray hitter who makes good contact. Eric is a 2008 grad from Corana, California with a medium frame and plenty of room to add future strength. He has nice rhythm in his set up and swing and created some real bat speed for a 135 pound freshman swinging wood. Eric's approach was very aggressive at the plate and he showed he wanted to hit the ball hard. With some more strength we can see Eric developing nicely as an offensive player. Defensively, Eric showed balanced and quick feet on ground balls and natural infield actions. He moved well to get balls on the proper hop and had soft hands. Just as with his bat, Eric looks like he has the ability to keep improving on defense as he gets stronger and quicker. One thing Eric definitely wasn't was intimidated by playing with older and bigger players. He's aggressive and high energy and has a savy to his game well beyond his years. He'll be a fun player to watch develop in the future.
