Marcos Mejia is a 2008 SS/3B with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Miramar FL, who attends Everglades HS. He has a lean, angular build and excellent athletic projection. Mejia was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. Mejia has top level middle infield tools on defense. His actions and balance are smooth and he has good hands and a quick exchange. His arm strength plays big, he can make the plays from deep at shortstop and projects to get even stronger. Offensively, Mejia hits from a balanced, still start and has a quick, slashing line drive swing. He has that ability to square up the barrel on the ball and repeatedly scorched line drives in BP and in game action. He doesn't have much lift in his swing right now but that could come easily. Mejia is a young athlete who could really blossom over the next few years. He has the tools and projection to be a top prospect. Mejia is also an excellent student.
