Nick Purdy is a 2007 RHP/OF with a 6'4'', 205 lb. frame from Grafton, ON, who attends St Mary's. Named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. Purdy has an extra large frame with good present strength in his body. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a balanced and online delivery. He has arm speed that helps produce a fastball that topped out at 89 mph. He gets life on his fastball with zip in the zone. He also throws a short CB at 75mph and a 68 mph CH. He throws strikes with all his pitches. Purdy has good tempo with pitchability. He has good upside on the mound. Also showed his arm strength from the OF throwing 92 mph with online carry. At the plate he has power in his bat. Purdy has good bat speed through the zone, and he takes an aggressive swing. He has the ability to drive the ball showing projectable power. He lets the ball get deep and takes a hack. He has great upside as a two-way talent.
