Jonathan Jones is a 2008 1B/P with a 6'2'', 205 lb. frame from Fredericksburg, VA who attends Courtland HS. He has a nice athletic build with some present strength. Jones is smooth fielding first baseman who is athletic around the bag and has good balance and first step quickness. At the plate Jones has a busy load with his hands and big long stride, the combination of which frequently leaves him late to the ball. His raw strength gives him bat speed and he has nice lift to his swing. When Jones irons out his timing issues and simplifies his approach, he could blossom with the bat and he's already pretty good. Jones also took the mound and threw 82 mph from the left side with a sweeping curveball and a high 3/4's release point. Jones throws with a lot of effort and his future is clearly with the bat at this point.

Jonathan Jones is a 2008 LHP/1B that attends Courtland HS and resides in Fredericksburg, VA with a 6'1", 205 lb. frame. He has a strong well-developed build. On the mound Jonathan throws from an OH arm slot with a nice balanced delivery. He is a strong kid that is just waiting for a jump in his velocity. At the plate Jonathan has good bat speed with nice power potential and the ability to hit the ball to any part of the park. Once he gets more out of his lower half Jonathan will be fine at the plate. Defensively Jonathan shows polished footwork and does a good job of staying in front of the ball. Jonathan is a player that could attract the attention of many smaller colleges.
