Geno Rubeis is a 2008 C/1B with a 6'1'', 210 lb. frame from Gainesville FL, who attends Oak Hall HS. He has a strong, well proportioned athletic build. Rubeis was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. Rubeis has good lower body quickness for his size, which he uses as an effective blocker with good range and mobility behind the plate. He receives the ball smoothly and has good hands. His best pop time during drills was 1.93 and he was consistently in the low 2.00's during games. Offensively, Rubeis hits with a flat bat and low hands in his set up. He uses his strength well and has good raw bat speed. When he stays short to the ball he hits it hard with top spin to the middle of the field and particularly to RCF. Rubeis will occasionally get longer and swing around the ball but is best driving it up the gaps. Overall, Rubeis is a good one-spot athlete with strength and balance. He'll have to watch is body carefully to maintain his athleticism.

Geno Rubeis is a 6' 215 pound 2008 catcher and first baseman from Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida. He has a thick strong body. Geno has a quiet set up and an open stance. He has a rotational swing and good bat speed. He has a line drive swing plane and good hand strength while he uses the entire field. Rubeis has compact actions behind the plate with a very quick exchange. He seems to be well schooled in his fundamentals and works very hard behind the plate and he blocks balls in the dirt very well. Geno is an outstanding young catching prospect who will continue to improve.
